Max Muncy sent an apology on Instagram after being met with negative reaction for his complaints about autograph requests.
Muncy posted a photo on his Instagram Story this week that showed the loads of autograph requests he received at his home upon returning from a vacation. He called the amount of requests “absurd” and asked fans to respect the “limited time” he and his family have.
Imagine being ungrateful for your fans.
There are better ways to go about this, @maxmuncy9. This ain’t it. pic.twitter.com/10JYKVnORP

After realizing that was not the best message to send to his fans, Muncy apologized and clarified. He said his issue was that fans had sent their requests directly to his home after the address was leaked online. He asked for all future requests to go through the team.
He also had someone leak his home address. (And btw, his salary was $575,000 last year.) pic.twitter.com/mFF0s2p0OC

The second message Muncy sent was completely understandable and perfect. Fans should not be sending mail to his personal address. That makes up for the first message, which was the wrong thing to say to his greatest supporters and seemed to be sent out of anger.
As a player who barely had any career accomplishments until two seasons ago, Muncy should be grateful to have so many fans who want his autograph.
