Miami Marlins minor leaguer Emaarion Boyd accomplished a rare feat on Wednesday by stealing six bases in one game without the benefit of a single hit.
Boyd, an outfielder for the High-A Beloit Sky Carp, officially went 0-for-1 in a 10-0 win. He walked twice and reached on a fielder’s choice, and stole second and third each time he reached. Boyd’s aggression on the basepaths led to him scoring two runs in the game.
Let the record reflect that this absolute DEMON Emaarion Boyd has stolen 6 (SIX) bases tonight. The Runnin' Carp have taken 9 (NINE) bags as a team. It's a fun team, folks! pic.twitter.com/ntiStrlin3

The feat made Boyd the first minor leaguer to steal six bases in a game without a hit since at least 2005, according to Michael Avallone of MLB.com.
An 11th-round pick by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2022, Boyd was traded to the Marlins as part of the deal that sent Jesus Luzardo to Philadelphia. He has flashed his plus speed throughout his minor league career, including a 56-steal season in just 91 games with Single-A Clearwater in 2023. That speed has also manifested itself in center, based on this catch he made last season.

There is no shortage of speed demons in the minors, though Boyd might have work to do to catch up to one standout player. Based on this feat, he is clearly on the right track.
