Orioles pull offer to Chris Davis
Baltimore Orioles vice president Dan Duquette confirmed that the team pulled their contract offer to Chris Davis and have elected to go in a different direction.
The team had reportedly tabled a 7 year, $150 million contract offer in a bid to retain Davis, the premier home run hitter on the free agent market. But Davis clearly didn’t bite and now the team is moving on.
Duq said the offer for Davis is off the table — the club is "going down different tracks."

Davis has been a mainstay in the middle of the Orioles lineup in recent seasons, leading the league in home runs two times in the last three seasons, and he seems to believe he can get more than the $150 million the Orioles were offering. The team has already been linked to a lesser free agent power hitter in Pedro Alvarez, so it’s apparent that Baltimore is already moving on.
