Texas Rangers reliever Chris Martin paid the price for his show of team unity on Wednesday night.
The Rangers and the Los Angeles Dodgers had a fight during their series finale when Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp collided with Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos on a play at the plate in the third inning. Take a look:

After the game, an eventual 3-2 victory for the Dodgers, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reported that Martin hurt his hamstring charging in from the bullpen when both benches emptied.

The 32-year-old Martin, who holds a 3.92 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 23 appearances this season, has developed into a fairly steady late-inning option for the Rangers. On the bright side, at least his injury doesn’t sound nearly as bad as the one that Joaquin Benoit suffered under similar circumstances.
