Ronald Acuña Jr. had heartbreaking 1-word message about his injury
Ronald Acuña Jr. shared a heartbreaking 1-word message after news of his season-ending injury was announced on Sunday.
Acuña left his Atlanta Braves’ 8-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday with a non-contact left knee injury. The Braves announced later in the evening that Acuña had suffered a torn ACL in his left knee on the play.
A few minutes before the Braves announced the news via X, Acuna posted a message on X that said “Sorry.” His note also included a broken heart and sad face emoji.
Sorry

At a time when his season has ended due to a torn ACL for the second time since 2021, Acuña was apologetic. He probably feels terribly for his teammates and fans. They likely feel badly for him, knowing how badly he wants to be playing.
Last year’s NL MVP, Acuña was batting .250 with 16 stolen bases this season. His Braves are 30-20 through Sunday and in a strong position to make the postseason yet again.
