James Harden reportedly bought $30K gold chain for Montrezl Harrell

James Harden averaged 11.2 assists per game during the regular season, which is by far the highest total of his career. Apparently that generosity has spilled over into his life off the court, as well.

Celebrity jeweler Boodaddy Diamonds, who describes himself on social media as the “jeweler to the stars,” told TMZ over the weekend that Harden and Houston Rockets forward Montrezl Harrell were recently looking at some pieces when Harrell came across a chain he loved. According to the jeweler, Harden secretly picked up the $30,000 tab for his teammate.

“He takes care of his boys, man,” Diamonds said.

Harrell is playing under a rookie contract that is worth about $3 million over three years. He’s doing pretty well for himself, but it’s a lot easier for Harden and his $29 million salary to afford a $30,000 chain.

While pro athletes buying expensive gifts for their teammates is nothing new, that was a nice gesture from Harden. Harrell will remember that one.
