Kelly Oubre looking forward to hostile crowd in Boston

Kelly Oubre Kelly Olynyk

Washington Wizards forward Kelly Oubre Jr. fully expects to hear the boos from the Boston crowd tonight — and he seems ready for it.

Oubre, who served a one-game suspension in Game 4 for shoving the Celtics’ Kelly Olynyk, is ready to be public enemy number one at TD Garden on Wednesday night, and is playing the role admirably.

“I’m happy to be in the situation, honestly,” Oubre said, via Candace Buckner of the Washington Post. “I’m 21 years old and people are going to be — how many people fit in here?

“A lot of people are going to be booing me tonight,” he added with a smile. “They know who I am, so it’s definitely a blessing so we got to go out here and get this big win tonight.”

Oubre has been backed by his organization and seems happy to play the role of heel. He’ll be even happier if the Wizards can walk into Boston and steal a win to take a 3-2 series lead.
