The Boston Celtics have shared a new update on the status of Kristaps Porzingis with Game 1 of the NBA Finals less than a week away.
Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said Saturday that Porzingis “did everything the team did” during the day’s workout. The coach suggested that Sunday will be a more significant test, as the Celtics will “go significantly harder tomorrow.”
Joe Mazzulla's Kristaps Porziņģis update: "He did everything the team did. We’ll go significantly harder tomorrow. Today was moderate, but he went through everything the team did today."

Sunday will potentially be a big day in determining Porzingis’ status. The Celtics will want to see him get through a tougher practice. If he comes through it successfully, they might be able to talk about him playing in Game 1.
Mazzulla’s characterization of Porzingis was a bit more conservative just one day earlier. This is the most positive update yet as the forward continues to work his way back from a calf injury.
