Justin Turner celebrates in the dugout

Justin Turner flashed fake nuts to teammate in dugout tunnel

June 13, 2025 by Steve DelVecchio
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Chicago Cubs veteran Justin Turner had some fun with his teammate in the dugout on Thursday night, but he probably did not expect his prank to attract as much attention as it did.

Turner was named the “Fan of the Game” for the Marquee Sports Network broadcast of the Cubs’ 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Ill. While Turner did not play, the veteran infielder drew attention for the way he celebrated after Seiya Suzuki homered to give the Cubs a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Turner was seen at the bottom of the clubhouse stairs gleefully jumping up and down. The clip was shown in the top of the ninth, with Marquee Sports Network play-by-play announcer Jon Sciambi gleefully declaring that Turner was the network’s fan of the game.

“It’s you, Justin Turner! You are our fan of the game! Woo!” Sciambi said.

Whoever chose Turner as the fan of the game somehow did not realize (we assume) that Turner had a pair of fake nuts hanging off of his belt. That is almost certainly why he was at the bottom of the dugout steps.

As Michael Dixon of Awful Announcing noted, the Marquee broadcast went silent for about 30 seconds after the “Fan of the Game” segment. It is possible the announcers realized that Turner was swinging a pair of fake testicles around and were either laughing or felt uncomfortable.

Suzuki clearly loved Turner’s celebration, even if it was never supposed to make it on TV.

Fans all said the same thing about Calvin Pickard after Game 4

June 12, 2025 by Larry Brown
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Calvin Pickard came on in relief for the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night, and he left fans all saying the same thing.

The Oilers came back from down 3-0 to the Florida Panthers in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla. Starting goalie Stuart Skinner allowed three goals in the first period and was removed in favor of Pickard for the start of the second period. Edmonton scored three goals in the second to tie the game. The teams traded goals in the third period before Edmonton won it 5-4 in overtime on a goal by Leon Draisaitl.

Pickard stopped 22 of the 23 shots he faced. He is now 7-0 this postseason, which makes him the first Oilers goalie since Grant Fuhr in 1985 to begin a postseason 7-0.

Oilers fans were left saying after the game that Pickard should start Game 5.

Absolutely zero reason not to start Pickard in Game 5.

Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch had said leading up to the game that he wasn’t sure who would start in goal for Game 4. That came after Skinner had been pulled during a poor Game 3 performance.

Now with two bad games in a row that led to him being pulled, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Knoblauch make the change for Game 5.

Rams sign former Pro Bowler in free agency

June 12, 2025 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

The Los Angeles Rams are moving to shore up their offensive line.

Veteran left tackle DJ Humphries has signed with the Rams as a free agent, his agency AMDG Sports announced on Thursday. Humphries joins Los Angeles after spending the latter part of 2024 with the Kansas City Chiefs.

A former first-round draft pick in 2015 (No. 24 overall), Humphries spent the first nine seasons of his NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals. That included a Pro Bowl selection with Arizona during the 2021 campaign.

Humphries is a big body at 6-foot-5 and 307 pounds. But he also has yet to recover his previous form after suffering a left ACL tear at the end of the 2023 season while still with the Cardinals. Humphries was released by Arizona in March 2024 and remained unsigned until late November when the Chiefs took a flier on him. But Humphries only ended up making four total appearances for Kansas City (regular season and playoffs) after missing time with a hamstring injury.

At 31 years old, Humphries is primarily a left tackle but also had experience playing at right tackle earlier in his career. NFL writer Ari Meirov notes that Humphries was originally supposed to sign with the rival San Francisco 49ers in late April but the deal was never finalized.

Humphries should immediately be able to provide depth in Los Angeles behind starting left tackle Alaric Jackson. Interestingly enough as well, Humphries once feuded on the field with retired ex-Rams star Aaron Donald during a playoff game.

Ja Morant makes high-profile change ahead of pivotal summer

June 12, 2025 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Ja Morant has decided to shake up the Etch-A-Sketch.

The Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Morant has parted ways with his agency LIFT Sports Management, Damichael Cole of the Memphis Commercial Appeal reported Thursday. Morant is moving on after only spending about a year under LIFT Sports Management’s representation following his split with longtime former agent Jim Tanner in 2024.

LIFT Sports Management is the agency headed by retired ex-NBA champion sharpshooter Mike Miller, who once played for the Grizzlies. Cole notes that Miller had become a regular at Memphis home games this season, often sitting courtside next to Morant’s father Tee.

The decision by the two-time All-Star Morant comes ahead of an important offseason for him. Morant is still under contract with the Grizzlies for the next three years (over which he is owed roughly $126.5 million). However, the 25-year-old is eligible for a new two-year extension this summer.

Morant only managed to appear in 50 games this season, mainly due to hip, shoulder, and hamstring injuries. When healthy, Morant averaging 23.2 points and 7.3 assists per game overall, and the Grizzlies went 48-34. That was only good enough though for a berth in the NBA play-in tournament, which Memphis advanced out of but ended up then getting swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round.

Recent reports have suggested that the Grizzlies may even consider trading Morant this offseason, especially after their firing of Taylor Jenkins (who had previously been the only head coach of Morant’s NBA career). Now Morant is set to hire new representation to help him navigate through all the uncertainty.

Report: Knicks spoke with another famous college figure about coaching job

June 12, 2025 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

The New York Knicks appear to be throwing as many darts as possible right now.

The Knicks spoke with Arkansas head coach John Calipari about their coaching vacancy, Kris Pursiainen of ClutchPoints reported on Thursday. A key member of the Knicks front office spoke to Calipari in a discussion that was described as “exploratory in nature.” However, that conversation ultimately reached the conclusion that there was nothing to discuss further, Pursiainen adds.

The 66-year-old Calipari does have experience coaching in the NBA, but that came all the way back in the 1990s when he coached the then-New Jersey Nets from 1996-99. Calipari has since become one of the winningest coaches in D1 college basketball, piling up 877 wins (tied for seventh all-time) to go along with six Final Four appearances and a national championship victory with Kentucky in 2012.

Calipari also just completed his first season as head coach at Arkansas, going 22-14 and leading the Razorbacks to the Sweet Sixteen. Currently in the midst of a five-year, $38.5 million deal with Arkansas (not counting incentives), Calipari will have to give back a reported $6 million if he leaves the Razorbacks prior to the end of his contract.

As such, Calipari was never a realistic option for the Knicks, who are looking for a new head coach after firing Tom Thibodeau. The Knicks’ head coaching search is now looking increasingly disorganized and chaotic, especially after they were rebuffed no less than five times in their attempts to interview currently-employed NBA head coaches.

New York was also recently linked to Jay Wright, another former NCAA champion head coach, but Wright had no interest in the job. Now the latest indications are that the Knicks could be zeroing in on a currently-unemployed ex-NBA Coach of the Year instead.

Stuart Skinner pulled by Oilers for second game in a row

June 12, 2025 by Larry Brown
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

The Stanley Cup Final has not been kind to Stuart Skinner.

Skinner was pulled by the Edmonton Oilers and replaced by Calvin Pickard following a bad first period in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla., on Thursday night. Skinner had allowed three goals on 17 shots in the first period, which led Edmonton to swap him for Pickard. Pickard played the second period and stopped all 10 shots he faced, while the Oilers rallied for three goals to tie the game.

Skinner was also pulled after allowing five goals on 23 shots in a 6-1 loss during Game 3 against the Panthers. That came during the third period, and Pickard stopped seven of the eight shots he faced in that game.

Skinner, 26, was 26-18 in 51 games during the regular season. He had an .896 save percentage with a 2.81 goals against average.

Pickard has had success during this postseason. He entered play on Thursday 6-0 with a 2.87 goals against average and .888 save percentage.

Maybe some pregame shenanigans from Vitek Vanecek messed with Skinner’s mojo.

Antonio Brown reportedly wanted for attempted murder

June 12, 2025 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Antonio Brown’s downward spiral continues.

The former NFL receiver Brown is wanted by police in Florida’s Miami-Dade County on a charge of attempted murder, David Ovalle of The Washington Post reported on Thursday. The charge stems from a shooting at a celebrity boxing event in May.

A warrant, which was signed by a judge on Wednesday, is now out for Brown’s arrest. The formally listed charge is attempted murder with a firearm, and the warrant calls for Brown to post a $10,000 bond and remain under house arrest pending trial.

You can read Ovalle’s full report on the Brown situation here.

Indeed, video had emerged last month of the seven-time Pro Bowler Brown, now 36 years old, getting involved in a large fight after a Miami celebrity kickboxing event put on by the popular Internet streamer Adin Ross. The video, which can you can see here, showed Brown getting tackled to the ground by multiple unidentified individuals and responding by kicking one of those individuals.

Brown was briefly handcuffed and detained by responding police officers amid the melee but was not ultimately placed under arrest. Reports did emerge though of shots being fired, allegedly by Brown, during the incident.

In the wake of the episode, Brown posted to his X page that he was “jumped by multiple individuals” who were attempting to steal his jewelry. Brown added that he would be pursuing legal action against his assailants.

Regarding the boxing event that happened last night. I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me. Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me.…

— AB (@AB84) May 17, 2025

However, the Washington Post report adds that Miami police detectives, per the warrant, have since obtained cell phone video footage apparently showing Brown punching a man (thereby sparking the melee) and further footage showing Brown appearing to take the gun of a security officer and running towards the man he had punched. Per the warrant, the footage also captured two gunshots as Brown approached the man as well as the man ducking.

Brown has made countless unsavory headlines over the years, especially ever since his last NFL appearance in 2021. Most recently before the Miami incident, Brown was revealed to be in some major financial trouble. But Brown is now facing one of his most serious sagas yet in the form of an attempted murder charge.

Gael Monfils has incredible message for fans who bet on him

June 12, 2025 by Larry Brown
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Gael Monfils had an incredible message for fans who bet on him in his first-round match at the Stuttgart Open this week.

Monfils lost to Alex Michelsen 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in their match, which was an expected result for many reasons, including the fact that Michelsen entered the tournament as the 7-seed. Even Monfils expected the result. In fact, the 38-year-old Frenchman recorded a video he shared on his Instagram Live in which he ripped those who wagered on him and were on his case for losing.

“You’re still betting on me? First tournament on grass! I’m playing Alex Michelsen. 20 years old. 35 in the world. And you want to bet on me? You write in that I’m sh-t. I know I’m sh-t. We both know I’m sh-it. And you still bet on me? Who’s the dumbest between you and me? Be honest,” Monfils said in his video (censored by LBS).

Monfils’ points are well taken. If you are upset that he lost and you had bet on him, that’s your problem. Even Monfils thinks that was a bad idea.

Monfils has been ranked as high as No. 6 in the world, but that was nearly a decade ago. He’s currently ranked No. 42 and he even made a run to the fourth round in the Australian Open in January. He remains a fan favorite for his great personality, which was on full display in the video.

Clear timeline emerges for Kevin Durant to be traded

June 12, 2025 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Kevin Durant may be in his final days in the desert.

The Phoenix Suns star Durant is expected to be traded away by next week, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reported on Thursday. Appearing on the “Burns & Gambo” show, Gambadoro added that it could be sooner but that his formal prediction is that Durant will be traded at some point next week.

“I expect Kevin Durant will be traded from the Phoenix Suns next week,” said Gambadoro. “There’s a lot of stuff out there. Some of it’s accurate, a lot of it is not accurate. We’ve said it all along that he will be traded by the draft. Outside shot that something happens sooner. But I’m gonna say that next week, my expectations are Kevin Durant is traded.”

Gambadoro has a long history of having reliable information, especially when it comes to local Arizona teams. He correctly called a notable signing by the Suns last summer before it happened and was also on point in suggesting that Phoenix head coach Mike Budenholzer was likely to be fired (which eventually occurred as well).

As it stands right now, the former NBA MVP Durant is entering the final year of his contract at $54.7 million. Recent reports have suggested that Durant now has one clear preference when it comes to a trade destination.

Earlier this week, we heard that five total teams were most involved on the Durant trade front. But Gambadoro expects one team to win the sweepstakes by next week (well before the NBA Draft on June 25 and possibly while the NBA Finals, which can extend up to June 22, are still going on).

Bill Simmons eerily nailed his prediction about NBA Finals Game 3

June 12, 2025 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Clairvoyant Bill has struck yet again.

Bill Simmons of The Ringer is going viral this week over his incredible prediction about the NBA Finals coming to fruition. After Game 1 of the series between the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder, Simmons predicted on his podcast that Pacers forward Bennedict Mathurin was going to have a big game at some point in the Finals.

Simmons even went so far as to suggest that Mathurin would have one of “those games where he scored 27 points in 22 minutes.”

In Game 3 of the Finals on Wednesday, Simmons’ prediction eerily came to exact (exact!) fruition. Mathurin ended up scoring exactly 27 points in exactly 22 minutes off the bench to lead all scorers in Indiana’s 116-107 victory.

Here is the full clip of Simmons’ prediction.

Bill Simmons after game 1: "I'm wondering are we going to hear from [Mathurin] in this series… you know when Mathurin will have those games where he scored 27 points in 22 minutes, I feel like he's gonna have one of those"

Guess what?
Mathurin had 27 points in 22 minutes… pic.twitter.com/YwRWZlxS3L

— MrBuckBuck (@MrBuckBuckNBA) June 12, 2025

Mathurin’s huge performance largely came out of nowhere, especially considering that he finished Game 1 with five points on 1/5 shooting. Even the Internet was in total disbelief over Mathurin’s Game 3 explosion.

But unbelievably enough, Simmons called the big game from Mathurin almost a full week before it happened, right down to the exact points and minutes total too. Simmons does have a strong history of getting his predictions right, but those are usually based on good insider information. Predicting 27 in 22 minutes from Mathurin based on vibes alone was simply some genie-like magic there from Simmons.

Report: NBA team considered hiring Brian Windhorst

June 12, 2025 by Grey Papke
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Brian Windhorst is regarded as one of the most prominent and plugged-in NBA reporters out there. That is why, according to one report, at least one NBA team tossed around the idea of officially hiring him.

Pablo Torre revealed in a recent podcast that the Oklahoma City Thunder considered hiring Windhorst roughly a decade ago. Torre noted how secretive Presti is when it comes to keeping information close to the vest, and that Windhorst might be able to get the sort of information Presti values.

“One thing I can report is that a little over a decade ago, he actually explored hiring our extremely plugged-in buddy, Brian Windhorst, away from ESPN, to work as an information guy for the Thunder,” Torre said. “The question of like, ‘Why would he do that?’ The reason that Sam Presti kicked the tires on hiring Brian Windhorst from ESPN is that information to Sam Presti is currency. It is an edge, a competitive advantage. And you don’t surrender that information.”

.@PabloTorre reports that a little over a decade ago, Sam Presti explored hiring @WindhorstESPN away from ESPN to work as "an information guy" for the OKC Thunder. 👀 pic.twitter.com/c0dhj2awH4

— Pablo Torre Finds Out (@pablofindsout) June 12, 2025

Obviously, this did not come to fruition, and Windhorst remains with ESPN. Presumably, his sources would have been much less eager to talk to him if he were employed by a specific team, but Presti would surely know that and thought the idea merited consideration anyway.

LeBron James probably would not have liked such a move, but the Thunder might have had a lot of access to information. Instead, viewers get to enjoy his animated commentary on happenings around the league.

Josh Hart calls out Knicks fans critical of Tom Thibodeau

June 12, 2025 by Grey Papke

New York Knicks forward Josh Hart had some pointed words for the team’s fans in the wake of coach Tom Thibodeau’s firing.

Hart sounded off on X Thursday about fans who have been critical of Thibodeau. He referred to the critics as “lame as hell” and said those fans should appreciate what the coach was able to do during his tenure.

“All yall talking trash about Thibs lame as hell,” Hart wrote. “A different direction was taken but yall should be appreciative for what he did for the team and organization.”

— Josh Hart (@joshhart) June 12, 2025
Hart may be confusing some Knicks criticism with Thibodeau criticism. The team’s haphazard coaching search has been the subject of some mockery since the Thibodeau firing, but Knicks fans by and large do seem to appreciate what the former coach was able to do for the team.

Thibodeau and Knicks fans seem to have a healthy respect for each other. It remains to be seen if the next coach, whoever it may be, is able to win over the fans the same way.

Roger Goodell’s potential successor is leaving the NFL

June 12, 2025 by Grey Papke
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

One of Roger Goodell’s most prominent potential successors is leaving the NFL for a new job.

NFL media chief Brian Rolapp, viewed by many as Goodell’s most likely successor, is leaving the NFL after 22 years. He will take a new position as CEO of the PGA Tour, according to multiple reports.

Goodell confirmed in a memo that Rolapp will be departing to “pursue other opportunities.”

Here’s the memo from Roger Goodell on Brian Rolapp. It doesn’t explicitly say he’s leaving for the PGA Tour, but sources expect Rolapp to take the CEO job, as @SBJ reported earlier this week pic.twitter.com/MDBJqWcylW

— Josh Carpenter (@JoshACarpenter) June 12, 2025

Rolapp is well-regarded in NFL circles and joins the PGA at a critical time. He will be the organization’s first CEO and tasked with overseeing business growth as negotiations with LIV over a possible merger continue.

While Goodell has never had a clear successor, Rolapp was viewed as one of the most likely, as he was essentially the league’s No. 2 executive. Goodell is currently signed on as commissioner until 2027, and has already blown through one self-imposed retirement date. Perhaps Rolapp simply was not prepared to wait until 2027 and beyond to get his shot and decided to look for opportunities elsewhere.

DeMarcus Cousins made his first public comments Thursday about the incident in Puerto Rico that got him suspended for the rest of the season.

Cousins got into an altercation with a fan recently while playing for the Guaynabo Mets in Puerto Rico’s Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). The incident escalated to the point that Cousins was pelted with drinks after grabbing his crotch and flipping off a fan.

On his Instagram story Thursday, Cousins issued an apology for his behavior.

“I want to apologize to the fans of Puerto Rico for my actions. I have so much love and respect for the island,” Cousins wrote.

Troubling details emerge from Texans DB Jimmie Ward’s arrest

June 12, 2025 by Steve DelVecchio
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Houston Texans defensive back Jimmie Ward was arrested early Thursday morning at his home in Texas, and some troubling new details about the alleged incident have surfaced.

Ward was arrested on charges related to assault and family violence after police responded to a call at his home in Magnolia at roughly 5:30 a.m. Thursday. He was booked at the Montgomery County Jail.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC, a woman told deputies that she had been assaulted, strangled and threatened by her fiancé, who was later identified as Ward. The 33-year-old Ward was booked on charges of assault family violence impeding breath/circulation, which is a third-degree felony in Texas.

The alleged victim filed an emergency protective order against Ward.

The Texans said in a statement on Thursday that there are aware of Ward’s arrest and gathering more information.

“We are aware of the report involving Jimmie Ward. We are gathering more information and have no further comment at this time,” a team spokesperson said.

Ward has spent the last two seasons with the Texans after playing for the San Francisco 49ers for the first nine years of his career. The 33-year-old initially signed a two-year deal with Houston prior to the 2023 season and then got a 1-year, $10.25 million extension last summer.

Ward has played in 10 games for the Texans in each of the last two seasons. He finished with 48 total tackles and 2 interceptions last year.

Ward’s 2024 season was cut short due to a foot injury. He has not practiced yet this spring while recovering from foot surgery.

Packers consider making backup WR a 2-way player

June 12, 2025 by Grey Papke
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Travis Hunter is angling to become the most prominent two-way NFL player since Deion Sanders, but he is not the only one who could see action on both offense and defense in 2025.

The Packers are having reserve wide receiver Bo Melton work with their cornerbacks during minicamp. Footage emerged this week showing Melton getting some reps in alongside the rest of the position group.

The Packers solution at cornerback is… Bo Melton?!?! He’s out working with the CB group.

With Micah Robinson & Kalen King out today, and with the release of Jaire – CB is very thin. pic.twitter.com/2644bt2Ywz

— Andy Herman (@AndyHermanNFL) June 10, 2025

For now, Melton’s new role seems to be mostly out of necessity. The Packers are dealing with some cornerback injuries, and just released veteran Jaire Alexander, leaving them short-handed at the position. Melton, however, says he would be up for trying it in a game if the team asked him to.

“It’s just something they want to look at,” Melton said, via Wes Hodkiewicz of the team’s official website. “I’m still a wide receiver, so I’m not really transitioning to no cornerback. But if it works, it works.”

Melton was a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, but ultimately caught on with Green Bay in 2023. In two seasons, he has 24 catches for 309 yards and a touchdown.

Nobody is expecting Melton to be the next coming of Hunter. If he can even take a few snaps, however, he could be a versatile piece for the Packers.

Magic Johnson issues challenge to Luka Doncic

June 12, 2025 by Steve DelVecchio
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Magic Johnson has a message for Luka Doncic as the five-time All-Star heads into his first full season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Johnson discussed the future of the Lakers during a Thursday morning appearance on ESPN’s “Get Up.” He praised J.J. Redick for the way the coach has seemingly challenged Doncic ahead of the offseason. Magic was also complimentary of Doncic for appearing to be in better shape since the season ended.

But Johnson also issued a challenge to Doncic.

“Luka, it’s great what you did in Dallas, but the difference is in Los Angeles we expect championships,” Johnson said. “And we expect our superstars to lead us to a championship. LeBron already did that. Now we want Luka to do the same thing.”

Magic also urged Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka to improve the roster by adding a big man and players who can get up and down the court quicker.

.@MagicJohnson has a message for Luka Doncic 👀

— Get Up (@GetUpESPN) June 12, 2025

Even with Doncic, the Lakers lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games in the opening round of the playoffs. LeBron James continues to play at an elite level, but he will turn 41 early next season. The Lakers are going to need Doncic to be a top-five superstar if they want to make a deeper run next year.

Johnson was highly critical of his former team during the playoffs. He felt the Lakers did not put forth enough effort to give themselves a chance to beat Minnesota. He is hoping a new mentality from Doncic will help change that next season.

June 12, 2025 by Grey Papke

Home plate umpire Chad Whitson got caught in a memorable hot mic moment Thursday while firing back at New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza.

Mendoza and the Mets were unhappy after a pitch by closer Edwin Diaz was called low on 3-0 in the 9th inning of Thursday’s game against the Washington Nationals at Citi Field in New York, N.Y. Mendoza could be seen barking at Whitson from the dugout, prompting the umpire to fire back with a savage reply.

“I can’t make them up. I’m not a magician,” Whitson said.

To be fair to Whitson, Diaz’s pitch did look low, and he appeared to get the call right. Sometimes umpires give extra leeway to pitchers on 3-0 pitches, which Whitson did not do here.

The Mets undoubtedly were experiencing some frustration because of the circumstances of the game. Diaz had just loaded the bases with nobody out while protecting a 4-1 lead. He did manage to escape and get the save after allowing two runs in a 4-3 victory.

We’ve been getting a lot of umpire hot mic moments this season, and some of them have been pretty entertaining. Whitson’s response here — essentially telling a manager that his guy should start throwing strikes — was definitely one of them.

Rodgers’ brother Jordan was not present at the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback’s recent wedding, according to Steve Helling and Jake Fenner of the Daily Mail. In fact, Jordan Rodgers barely knows anything about Aaron’s new wife, who has only been identified as Brittani.

“Jordan and JoJo didn’t go to the wedding and don’t even know anything really about Brittani,” a source told the Daily Mail of Jordan and his wife, JoJo Fletcher. “What they’ve heard is secondhand from his parents.

“They are still angry that Aaron didn’t go to their wedding. He didn’t want to be with his brother on the biggest day of his life, so why should they twist themselves up over this wedding?”

The relationship between Aaron and his brother Jordan, an ESPN analyst, has been strained for years. Jordan had hoped Aaron would come to his wedding in 2016, but that did not happen, and it sounds as if Jordan did not even receive an invite to Aaron’s nuptials.

Rumors suggested that Rodgers’ relationship with the rest of his family became strained as a result of one of his famous exes.

The Steelers quarterback recently revealed that he is married, but few other details have come to light. He had been spotted wearing a wedding ring at a few public appearances prior to the revelation.

Patrick Reed points after a shot

Patrick Reed hits one of the best shots in US Open history

The U.S. Open is considered by many to be the most challenging test in golf, but Patrick Reed made it look easy on one incredible shot during the first round on Thursday.

Reed made one of the best shots in U.S. Open history early in his first round at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa. After hitting a nice 332-yard drive on the par-5 4th hole, Reed was left with 286 yards to the hole.

Reed decided to go for the green in two shots. He also opted not to bother with his putter, as he holed out with an albatross.

The albatross, which means a single-hole score of 3-under par, was just the fourth in the 125-year history of the U.S. Open.

Holes at the U.S. Open are often set up to play incredibly long, which is why albatrosses are so rare during the tournament. It is hard enough to hold the ball on the lightning-fast greens, let alone do so from nearly 300 yards out.

Reed, who has one top-five finish at the U.S. Open, is known for being hard on himself when he does not execute shots the way he expects to. He will probably never hit one better than his approach shot on the 4th at Oakmont.
