Bob Hoffman goes Ric Flair after Mercer stuns Duke (Video)

Bob-Hoffman-MercerWe officially have our first incredible upset of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. No. 14 seed Mercer knocked off No. 3 seed Duke on Friday, sending the internet into an absolute frenzy. The Blue Devil hate was at an all-time high, and Mercer head coach Bob Hoffman immediately became America’s favorite coach when he was interviewed by Rachel Nichols after the game.

Hoffman was understandably jacked up. He managed to squeeze a voice crack, a “praise the lord!,” and a Ric Flair “woooo!” into a short one-minute interview.

“You’re never too old to celebrate!” an ecstatic Hoffman shouted. “Unbelievable what these dudes believe about each other and what they accomplish. That’s the kind of heart it takes. … I’m just blessed to be able to coach them and get to be with them everyday. Praise the lord! Woo!”

And how about Mercer senior Anthony White Jr. busting out the robot behind his coach while he was being interviewed?

The Bears killed it on the court and may have outdone themselves with the postgame celebration. They deserve every second of it. Mercer is officially America’s favorite team.
