Jake Layman was called for a technical foul during Maryland’s game against Kansas on Thursday night for hanging on the rim after a dunk.
The call of the technical foul was controversial because many felt he hung on the rim for safety rather than celebratory purposes.

The senior forward probably appreciated just having the opportunity to throw down during a Sweet 16 game.
Though I can buy the argument that it wasn’t safe to let go, the technical foul was not a bad call.
