Braxton Miller may be interested in transferring to Alabama, but it doesn’t sound like that is the reason he has visited the Birmingham area on multiple occasions.
In a phone interview with Matt Zenitz of AL.com on Thursday, ex-Alabama linebacker Trey DePriest said Miller’s visits to Alabama had nothing to do with the Crimson Tide. DePriest, who is friends with Miller, claims the Ohio State quarterback was visiting his doctor.
“He wasn’t coming down here to visit me,” DePriest said. “He just had shoulder surgery, and that’s where he does his rehab, in Birmingham, so he was like 35 minutes away.”

Earlier in the day, former Alabama fullback Jalston Fowler said during a radio interview that Miller was in Alabama visiting his “best friend” DePriest.
However, DePriest says Miller was simply in Alabama for follow-ups with Birmingham-based Dr. James Andrews, who performed Miller’s shoulder surgery in August.
“To be honest with you, we don’t even talk about it,” DePriest said of the Miller transfer rumors. “When we talk, we talk more as friends because I know everyone is in his ear about all that, so I just try to leave it alone. But I really don’t know because it’s hard to get a feel from him, and I really don’t try to get a feel from him to be honest with you.”
I think what we have here is a horrible case of the telephone game. While Miller has reportedly considered transferring to several schools and Nick Saban did not completely shoot down the idea, it would make sense for the QB to be in Alabama to visit Andrews. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be a Buckeye next season.
