Ex-Oregon St. interim head coach Cory Hall now DBs coach for Central Michigan

Cory Hall

From serving as head coach of a Pac-12 team to coaching the secondary at a MAC school, Cory Hall is in for a big change.

Hall, 41, has landed a gig as the secondary coach at Central Michigan, the Portland Tribune reported on Thursday. Hall was looking for a new job after new Oregon State head coach Jonathan Smith took over the job and brought in his preferred assistants.

Hall played safety at Fresno State and then in the NFL with the Falcons and Bengals. He coached high school football at his alma mater Clovis North in Fresno from 2008-2013 before joining Gary Andersen’s staff as a graduate assistant at Wisconsin in 2014. He became a cornerbacks coach under Andersen at Oregon State in 2016. Then after Andersen was fired mid-season last year, Hall was named interim head coach.

The Beavers went 0-6 under Hall and finished 1-11 overall.
