Fans all said the same thing about Drew Allar after Penn State’s loss to Oregon

Drew Allar’s lackluster performance against Oregon had Penn State fans dreaming of a different quarterback on Saturday night.

All eyes were on the Penn State-Oregon quarterback battle inside a packed Beaver Stadium in University Park, Pa. Whereas Ducks QB Dante Moore carved up the Nittany Lions’ defense, Allar looked out of his element against the best opponent his team has faced this season.

Moore went 29/39 for 248 yards and 3 touchdowns, while Allar went 14/25 for 137 yards, 2 TDs, and an interception. The pick Allar threw lost Penn State the game in overtime, 30-24.

Allar came into Saturday’s game as one of the biggest names in college football this season. The attention felt warranted after he helped lead No. 3 Penn State to a 3-0 start with solid performances as the team’s signal caller. But No. 6 Oregon’s defense was simply a different beast that Allar could not handle.

Many Penn State fans felt as though the team would have fared better with former QB Beau Pribula leading the team instead of Allar.

Penn State would be the best team in the country if they kept Beau Pribula instead of Drew Allar

Man Penn State just needs a QB.

Maybe they can get a guy like Beau Pribula in the portal?

That’s a completely different game if Beau Pribula is your QB #PSU

Pribula spent the previous two seasons serving as Allar’s backup before deciding to transfer to Missouri last year. Pribula has made Penn State regret its decision to stick with Allar five weeks into the first half of the college football season.

Through five games, Pribula has tallied 1,203 passing yards, 9 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions across five Mizzou wins. In contrast, Allar has thrown for 763 yards with 6 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in four games for the Nittany Lions.
