Ole Miss apparel store files lawsuit against Dan Mullen, NCAA
Rebel Rags, an apparel store specializing in Ole Miss gear, has filed a lawsuit against Dan Mullen, the NCAA and many other figures.
SI’s Bruce Feldman reported on Tuesday about Rebel Rags’ lawsuit. The Clarion Ledger’s Antonio Morales says there are seven defendants in the case: Mullen, Mississippi State’s former football coach, Scott Stricklin, the former Bulldogs AD, the NCAA, and NCAA investigator Mike Sheridan. Also named as defendants are Mississippi State football players Leo Lewis and Kobe Jones, as well as Lindsey Miller, the stepfather of former Ole Miss OL Laremy Tunsil.
There are seven defendants in the lawsuit Rebel Rags filed today – Dan Mullen, Scott Stricklin, Mike Sheridan, the NCAA, Lindsey Miller, Leo Lewis and Kobe Jones. The complaint is centered on defamation, civil conspiracy and commercial disparagement like the original case.

Rebel Rags was mentioned as part of the investigation into alleged NCAA violations committed by Ole Miss. The store’s owner, Terry Warren, was named as one of the boosters in the report and banned by the school, though he has since been reinstated.
Rebel Rags was alleged to have provided Lewis, Jones and Miller nearly $3,000 worth of free merchandise during recruiting trips, as arranged by former Ole Miss staff members Chris Kiffin and Barney Farrar.
Last June, the Clarion Ledger reported that Rebel Rags was suing Miller, Lewis and Jones for defamation, slander and conspiracy. They say the accusations are false.
Stricklin and Mullen have since moved on to the University of Florida.
A Mississippi State fan helped take down Hugh Freeze at Ole Miss, so maybe this is the way some Rebels fans are trying to get back at their rivals.
