The “Civil War” between Oregon and Oregon State is one of college football’s better rivalries. On Sunday, Oregon State took the opportunity to salute the quarterback of the team that defeated them 47-19 earlier this month.
The Beavers took out the above pictured full-page ad in The Oregonian congratulating Marcus Mariota on his winning the Heisman Trophy.
During this year’s edition of the Civil War, Oregon State got an up close view of Mariota’s greatness. He completed 19 of 25 passes for 367 yards and four touchdowns. He also had 39 yards and two more scores on the ground.
A classy move indeed by Oregon’s in-state rivals.
