Chandler Jones won’t even tell his own brother the status of his injury

Chandler-Jones-PatriotsThe New England Patriots have a very simple policy in place within their entire organization when it comes to injures — don’t say a word. Bill Belichick provides the absolute minimum amount of information that the league requires him to provide when players are hurt. And even then, he still lies.

Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones will be facing his brother, Baltimore Ravens defensive end Arthur Jones, in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday. Chandler has been limited in practice all week after suffering an ankle injury in New England’s win over the Houston Texans last weekend, and it is unknown whether or not he will be able to play. Yes, it’s even unknown to Arthur.

“I know he got rolled up bad last week, so I was trying to figure out if he was going to play or not and get the inside scoop,” Arthur Jones told reporters Wednesday, via USA Today. “But he’s doing a good job not telling me anything.”

As you may know, Arthur and Chandler are also the brothers of UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, and I’m guessing Jonny “Bones” has no idea how badly Chandler is hurt either. No offense, bros — that’s just the Patriot way.
