Charles Woodson will play the final home game of his career Thursday night, and the Raiders are planning to give him the farewell he deserves.
Woodson, who announced earlier this week that he will retire at the end of the season, could get an opportunity to turn back the clock against the Chargers by returning kicks and lining up as a wide receiver.

Earlier this week, Raiders offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave would not rule out the possibility of Woodson playing both ways.
“I don’t know if (he will),” Musgrave said, via Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com. “That’s been in discussions since we started the season. We may have something up our sleeve. It might be the right time to do it.”
Woodson, 39, was selected to his ninth Pro Bowl on Tuesday. If he returns a punt against San Diego, he would become the oldest player in NFL history to do so.
As many of you know, Woodson is the only primarily defensive player to ever win a Heisman Trophy. He returned kicks and played some receiver during his three seasons at Michigan in the 1990s in addition to being a dominant shutdown cornerback.
It’s tough to imagine the NFL without Woodson, but perhaps he can focus more on playing Cupid after he retires. If you read what he said about Tom Brady’s marriage, you’ll know the future Hall of Famer fancies himself a match-maker.
