Chiefs offer no comment on disturbing Tyreek Hill audio

Tyreek Hill Patriots fans

Tyreek Hill appeared to be in the clear — at least from a legal standpoint — when prosecutors announced this week that he would not face charges stemming from the child abuse allegations against him, but the case took an ugly turn on Thursday when an audio recording painted the star wide receiver in a disturbing light. However, the Kansas City Chiefs had no immediate comment on the latest development.

Shortly after word surfaced about an audio recording suggesting Hill was responsible for his son’s injuries, a Chiefs executive told ESPN’s Chris Mortensen the team would not be addressing the new information at this time.

The Chiefs waived Kareem Hunt almost immediately after a video surfaced that showed him shoving and kicking a woman. Like Hill, Hunt was not charged in his case. Hill is not out of the woods and could still face charges after prosecutors review the latest evidence, but either way it would be a shock if Kansas City kept him on the roster.

The troubling audio is attributed to Hill’s fiancee Crystal Espinal, who supposedly gave it to a friend as an “insurance policy.” In the recording, Espinal is allegedly heard telling Hunt that the couple’s son said “daddy did it” regarding the broken arm the 3-year-old suffered.

Hill released a statement on Thursday saying he loves his family and that the health and happiness of his son is his top priority.
