Dak Prescott sounds more than ready to put his major hamstring injury behind him.

Prescott’s 2024 season came to an abrupt end after he tore his hamstring in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons. It’s been a long yet steady road to recovery for the Dallas Cowboys quarterback.

In March, Prescott had yet to be cleared for full contact. While his progression had been going according to plan, Prescott was still unable to run at full speed at that point in his recovery.

Over the last month, Prescott has made significant strides toward getting back to full health. On Friday, Prescott made a telling claim to Fort Worth Star-Telegram reporter Nick Harris about where he is in his recovery.

“If I had to play a game today, I definitely could do that,” Prescott told Harris. “It’s about moving forward healthy to make sure I can play 17-20 times when the time is right.”

With about five months to go before the Cowboys’ 2025 season opener, Prescott will have plenty of time to ease himself back into action. The Cowboys star has also made waves for losing a significant amount of weight as he works his way back from injury.

Prescott has been training on his own at a local high school in Celina, Texas ahead of the team’s organized team activities (OTAs) in May. Prescott said that he plans to be “involved in some sort, if not all” of the team’s OTAs when the time comes.
