Earl Thomas has likely played his last game for the Seattle Seahawks after he suffered a broken leg in last week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, but he should still be able to cash in with a huge contract as he heads toward free agency.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Thomas will undergo surgery this week to have a rod inserted in his leg, which will help the healing process and help prevent a re-fracture in the future. He is expected to be back to 100 percent health long before free agency begins.
#Seahawks S Earl Thomas, who suffered a leg fracture last Sunday, will have surgery to have a rod inserted this week, source said. That increases the chance of healing and lowers refracture rates. Thomas will be 100% long before free agency.

Limiting his injury risk was the reason Thomas had started skipping practices in Seattle, as he was seeking a long-term contract. He let the Seahawks know exactly how he felt about them as he was being carted off the field next week, but Thomas’ career shouldn’t be affected that much by the injury.
