Gerald McCoy could reportedly sign with Browns next week
Gerald McCoy left Cleveland without a deal on Friday, but that does not mean the defensive lineman won’t eventually be a member of the Browns.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com, McCoy’s visit went “great,” but he did not sign in order to keep a commitment to visit the Baltimore Ravens next week. McCoy has a good relationship with Baltimore defensive line coach Joe Cullen and is intrigued by their status as the league’s No. 1 defense in 2018.
However, the Browns are the top suitor along with Baltimore, and it remains possible he could join Cleveland next week.
The Browns got the first visit with McCoy and clearly made a good impression. They’d have loved to have get him signed before leaving the building, so they’ll hope their sales pitch was enough to keep him away from a division rival in the Ravens.
