Greg Olsen still interested in playing after parting ways with Panthers

Greg Olsen

Greg Olsen is still interested in playing in the NFL even after parting ways with the Carolina Panthers.

Olsen and the Panthers announced on Thursday that they have mutually parted ways. Olsen played for the Panthers the past nine seasons.

Here was his statement on the matter:

Even though Olsen will be 35 in March, he still has interest in continuing his playing career, his agent told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Olsen may also consider a career in the media. A report this week said he had a job in TV if he wanted it.

Olsen and the Panthers parting ways is no surprise. The new owner is remaking the team. He got rid of Ron Rivera and has new coordinators; Luke Kuechly retired; Cam Newton could be traded; and now Olsen won’t be part of the team.

Olsen parting ways with the Panthers is no surprise based on his comments at the end of the season.
