Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker got a kick in the groin after his team’s beatdown loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
Daniel Matthews of The Daily Mail, who was on site at Sunday’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, reported this week that Butker discovered that his clothes were missing from his locker following the team’s 40-22 loss to the Eagles. Matthews reports that Butker was left in the locker room wearing just a towel and wondering where his pre-match suit had gone.
Matthews adds that Butker speculated that a team staffer had mistaken his suit for that of Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes, whose locker was positioned near that of Butker’s.

Additionally, Butker is said to have been in “good spirits” despite the mishap (though it is unclear what he left the locker room wearing that night).
The former NFL points leader Butker did not get a chance to kick at all during the Super Bowl as Kansas City had to go for two points after every touchdown due to the lopsided score. As a result, Butker finished the loss to the Eagles with no field goal attempts and no extra point attempts.
Butker, 29, had also made the news earlier in the season over his controversial remarks made during a college commencement speech. While the remarks resonated with some and resulted in Butker’s jersey become a top seller for the NFL, it turns out, ironically, that Butker was left with only his jersey (as well as a towel) after his clothes got taken from his locker at the Super Bowl.
