Report: Johnny Manziel out drinking until 1:30 a.m. before he was late
Johnny Manziel may not have thrown a big party at his house last weekend, but he was reportedly out partying until the wee hours of the morning before he missed his injury treatment.
According to TMZ, several sources — all of whom were described as “solid” — say they saw Manziel out drinking with a few friends at Barley House in Cleveland until well after midnight on Friday into Saturday morning. One of the sources snapped a low-quality photo of someone who certainly looks like Manziel, and the time stamp on the photo says it was taken at 1:21 a.m.
Manziel and his crew reportedly sat in a VIP area and racked up a bar tab that was around $1,000.
Initial reports indicated that Manziel threw a party at his house on Friday night and Browns team security had to go searching for him on Saturday. Manziel said Monday that any rumors about him throwing a party are “100 percent false,” but he also tossed an insult at himself over the situation.
Manziel is an adult. Like any other NFL player, he is free to spend his personal time however he wants. But when it starts affecting work, that is a major issue. If Browns owner Jimmy Haslam’s recent comments are any indication, the team isn’t going to let it be an issue for long.
