Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson has made a big decision on attending team OTAs as he looks for a new contract.

Jefferson was a no-show for mandatory workouts on Monday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Jefferson and the Vikings have had recent talks about a new contract, but nothing has yet been agreed to.

The star wide receiver is entering the last year of his rookie deal and is due to make $19.7 million in 2024 on his fifth-year option.

The decision is not necessarily a huge surprise. Jefferson skipped voluntary workouts last month as well, and never seemed particularly likely to show up for these without a new deal in hand. The good news for Minnesota fans is that it certainly sounds like the two sides are trying to make progress. We do know that he has been in Minneapolis fairly recently.

Jefferson has firmly established himself as one of the league’s best wide receivers, and he has amassed 5,899 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns in 60 games to start his career.
