NFL likely to add more phone cameras for prospects in future NFL Drafts
Some aspects of the 2020 NFL Draft were so popular that they’re expected to stay even when the process returns to normal, and we’re starting to find out which aspects those are.
NFL executive vice president Peter O’Neill told NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport that the traditional green room will stay for prospects who choose to attend the draft, but more phone cameras are likely to be put in the homes of prospects who don’t.
Spoke with NFL’s Peter O’Reilly about other things, too including:
— There were no real technical breakdowns, they never had to stop the clock. No issues.
— The Green Room isn’t going away for future drafts, but they’ll likely put phone cameras in more prospects houses next year.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 27, 2020
Commissioner Roger Goodell hinted at this as well. Many have enjoyed seeing prospects at home celebrating their selections with their families in a comfortable environment. It also allows us to see far more prospects get drafted than the green room typically accommodates.
The virtual draft went off without a hitch. It went so well that we’re talking about tweaking the process to use some aspects of it in the future. That’s what we’d call a success.
