Patriots’ Duron Harmon issues apology for Costa Rica incident
New England Patriots safety Duron Harmon is offering an apology for his embarrassing weekend incident in Costa Rica.
In a post to Instagram on Saturday, Harmon gave a mea culpa for his episode in the Central American country the day before. He apologized to the Patriots, the team’s fans, owners, the league, and his teammates for his actions. He also apologized to his family for the incident.
The 27-year-old Harmon was detained at Costa Rica’s Juan SantamarĂa Airport on Friday after he attempted to enter the country with a vast array of marijuana paraphernalia hidden in his suitcase (full details here).
Harmon has been with the Patriots for his entire five-year NFL career and was a member of their Super Bowl-winning teams in 2014 and 2016. He is about to enter the second season of a four-year, $17 million contract with New England.
