Rams GM: ‘I don’t know’ when Aaron Donald will show up
The Los Angeles Rams are playing things pretty close to the vest when it comes to the Aaron Donald situation.
Donald has yet to report to training camp as he continues to hold out in pursuit of a new contract. And while the Rams expressed optimism about getting a deal done with their star defensive lineman several months ago, they are tight-lipped now.
Team GM Les Snead said Tuesday he does not know when Donald will report to camp.
Les Snead, when asked if Aaron Donald would report before having agreed to a contract: "I can't answer that one. I don't know."

Snead did say they are trying to come up with a plan that could help get Donald into camp.
Snead: Rams tried to "come up with creative scenarios" with regards to Aaron Donald's contract, perhaps as a means to provide flexibility.

Donald is still on his rookie deal and only set to earn $1.8 million this season, which is a fraction of what other top defensive players in the league make. It’s understandable why he wants a new deal, but the Rams put themselves in a bad spot by giving Tavon Austin entirely too much money and now don’t have much cap space to play with.
