This is exactly why people hate Richard Sherman, and exactly why Seattle loves him.
After making an incredible play to tip a pass from Colin Kaepernick to Michael Crabtree into the air to set up an interception that sent Seattle Seahawks to the Super Bowl, Sherman gave Crab a pat on the butt and then gave the choke sign to the Niners.
Sherman was penalized for a personal foul for taunting, not that it mattered at that point.
Sherman has become known for his trash talking ways, but after making plays like that, he’s able to get away with his cocky behavior. He just knows that nobody will ever confuse him for classy with the way he behaves.
Then, after taunting Crabtree and the 49ers, Sherman took it next level by calling Crabtree a “sorry receiver” after the game:
