Shedeur Sanders was at one point viewed as a legitimate candidate to be taken first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, but oddsmakers are now predicting that he will slide down the board a bit. As a result, a new favorite has emerged to land the former Colorado star.
The Tennessee Titans are widely expected to select Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick. Next on the clock would be the Cleveland Browns and then the New York Giants. The Browns need a quarterback, but the Giants have less urgency to draft one after they recently signed Russell Wilson.
After Cleveland, there is not a team with an obvious quarterback need for quite some time. The latest odds from DraftKings Sportsbook list the New Orleans Saints as the favorite to draft Sanders with the No. 9 overall pick at +300.

The Giants are next at +350, followed by the Browns at +425 and the Pittsburgh Steelers at +700.

The Steelers have the 21st pick. They are still waiting to hear if Aaron Rodgers wants to become their next starting quarterback, but it is possible they will not have an answer prior to the draft.
Derek Carr is entering the third year of his 4-year, $150 million contract with the Saints. He was limited to just 10 games because of injuries last season, and he has been mediocre at best since joining the team. A move New Orleans made last month seemed to indicate they are committed to Carr for at least one more season, but it would not be a surprise if they view Sanders as a potential upgrade.
If Sanders does fall out of the top five, he will be more motivated than ever to prove his doubters wrong. He made that clear with the stern message he sent to NFL teams last week.
