Terrell Owens: Sam Bradford is a ‘coward’ for demanding trade

Sam Bradford

Terrell Owens managed to wear out his welcome with more than one team during his NFL career, but he believes asking for a trade is something only a coward would do.

TMZ recently caught up with Owens and asked for his thoughts on the Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback situation. T.O. said he believes the job is Sam Bradford’s to lose even with the team drafting Carson Wentz at No. 2 overall, and he does not agree with Bradford’s decision to demand a trade.

“I think it was not a great move for Sam to want to request a trade being that they were getting a No. 1 pick,” Owens said. “For me, that’s kind of the sign of a coward, to be honest. If you’re secure in your abilities it shouldn’t matter who they’re drafting or who’s coming in. That should really kind of motivate you and prepare you for the best season you could probably ever have.”

Bradford’s argument is that the Eagles have turned him into a lame duck, especially since he is only signed for two seasons. He feels that the team won’t re-sign or extend him no matter how well he plays. Owens sees it differently.

“I like competition,” T.O. added. “With that request, it just seems like he’s not really comfortable in his own skin and what he can do.”

Bradford probably knows he can beat out Wentz this season, but he wants more long-term security. His agent said as much when he ripped the Eagles and confirmed that Bradford wants out of Philly.

Unfortunately for Sam, even one interested team does not believe the Eagles are going to trade him. He might just have to suck it up for at least a season.
