Texans not benching Brock Osweiler for Tom Savage
Brock Osweiler’s poor play on Sunday will not result in him losing his job.
Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien said “no” when asked if Osweiler would be replaced with backup Tom Savage.
“No,” O’Brien said, via ESPN. “We’re going to come in here tomorrow, we’re going to correct mistakes, and move on to Green Bay.”
Osweiler had arguably his worst game of the season as he was intercepted three times (one on a Hail Mary) as the Texans lost 21-13 to the Chargers. He now has 13 interceptions and 12 touchdowns on the season, and the suddenly 6-5 Texans can no longer make the argument that they’re winning even with Osweiler.
After paying Osweiler $72 million during the offseason, it would be a surprise to see Houston bench the QB unless things get completely disastrous.
