Texans OC Bobby Slowik makes decision on his future
Bobby Slowik did a phenomenal job in his first season as offensive coordinator of the Houston Texans. It sounds as though Slowik’s first year on the job won’t be his last.
Slowik has reportedly agreed to a new deal to remain in Houston. The contract includes a “significant” pay raise, according to NFL insider Albert Breer.
Texans OC Bobby Slowik has agreed to a new deal in Houston within the past few days, one that includes a significant raise, per sources. Slowik impressed multiple NFL clubs thru the interview process.
But he's sticking in Houston. He'll be a hot name in 2025.

Slowik wasn’t the only Texans staff member who had been garnering interest from other teams. Quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson had several interviews with teams looking to make him their offensive coordinator. But Johnson, just like Slowik, opted to stay in Houston.

A big development for the #Texans, as Johnson wants to finish what he started with CJ Stroud, DeMeco Ryans, OC Bobby Slowik and the organization. pic.twitter.com/mpMoKThYsy

The Texans were terrific offensively in the team’s first year with rookie QB CJ Stroud under center. The Ohio State product had a historic debut season, throwing for 4,108 yards with 23 touchdowns against just 5 interceptions. He became the first rookie ever to lead the NFL in touchdown-to-interception ratio. Stroud also led the league in passing yards per game (273.9)
As Stroud continued to improve week-after-week, so too did Slowik’s stock as a head coaching candidate. He was named on the short list of candidates for a handful of coaching vacancies across the league.
If Stroud and the Texans have a similar offensive season in 2024, Slowik will more than likely draw interest from other teams once again.
