Travis Kelce shares his theory for how opponents will target Travis Hunter

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce believes that rival teams might have a strategy to counter Travis Hunter’s two-way capabilities.

In an appearance on the “Bussin’ with the Boys” podcast, Kelce predicted that opponents might try to attack Hunter with deep routes when the Jacksonville Jaguars rookie is playing defense. The goal would be to wear Hunter out and limit his effectiveness on both sides of the ball.

“Teams are going to be going after him. They’re going to try and make his day miserable,” Kelce said. “If he plays corner, they’re going to run deep balls at him all day. The wide receivers just take off on him all day, just to try and get (him) tired. Why wouldn’t you just attack him that way?”

Hunter wants to play both wide receiver and cornerback in the NFL. This is one of the challenges he will face. It is why the Jaguars might need to prioritize him on one side of the ball more than the other, whether he likes it or not.

There are not many questions about whether Hunter is capable of playing both sides of the ball. The big question is how much he can do before he runs out of gas. NFL teams will definitely try to exploit that concern, and it will be up to Hunter and the Jaguars to find a way to counter it.
