Tyreek Hill looks ahead

The Kansas City Chiefs landed a potential new top wide receiver on Wednesday when they acquired DeAndre Hopkins, and their old No. 1 wideout seemed to take note of the big news.

Hopkins was traded from the Tennessee Titans to the Chiefs on Wednesday in exchange for a conditional fourth-round draft picks. Almost immediately after the news broke, Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill made a cryptic post on social media.

Hill simply wrote “hm.”

It was well known that the Chiefs were in the market for a receiver after Rashee Rice suffered a knee injury on a fluke play in Week 4. JuJu Smith-Schuster then showed a brief glimpse of a career resurgence before injuring his hamstring, which left the Chiefs even more thin at wideout.

Hill had been mentioned as one potential trade target for Kansas City. That talk quieted considerably after it became clear that Tua Tagovailoa is close to returning from his latest concussion.

It is worth noting that Hill indicated over the offseason that he never wanted to leave Kansas City. If Hill’s social media post was a reaction to the Hopkins trade, he may have simply found the move interesting, though.

Hill caught just 1 pass for 8 yards in Sunday’s 16-10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Miami’s offense has been abysmal without Tagovailoa, but help is on the way.
