New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers suffered a significant knee injury during Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, which is believed to be a torn ACL.
Nabers hurt his right leg while attempting to make a leaping catch during the second quarter at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The Chargers had jumped offsides on the play, which gave New York a free play. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart tried to take advantage by throwing a deep pass to Nabers in single coverage.
As Nabers jumped to try to make a play, his right leg awkwardly planted into the turf. He immediately grabbed at his knee and appeared to be in serious pain.

The belief is that Nabers tore the ACL in his knee.

Nabers is arguably the Giants’ most important offensive player. The former No. 6 overall pick had 2 catches for 20 yards prior to exiting on Sunday, which brought him up to 18 catches for 271 yards and 2 touchdowns on the season.
Nabers missed time during his outstanding rookie season last year after he suffered a concussion. He was also banged up with various ailments in training camp, but the new injury looks like it could be far more serious.
