Ian Poulter hits clutch putt to force playoff at Houston Open, gets invite to Masters
Ian Poulter had more at stake than most other golfers in the field at the Houston Open this weekend, and to say he came up clutch on the 18th hole would be an understatement.
Poulter needed a win on Sunday to score an invitation to the Masters next weekend. While trailing Beau Hossler by a stroke on the final hole, Poulter buried a 20-foot birdie to force a sudden death playoff.

Hossler didn’t quite have the nerves of steel Poulter had. The 23-year-old hit a horrible bunker shot on the first hole of the playoff that went over the green and into the water. Poulter went on to win, and we’ll see him at Augusta because of his timely performance.
