Video: DeMarcus Cousins shoved Devin Booker at end of Game 2

Devin Booker DeMarcus Cousins

The Phoenix Suns pulled off an incredible win over the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday, and things got chippy between Devin Booker and DeMarcus Cousins at the end.

The Suns were down 103-102 and had the ball under the basket with 0.9 seconds left. They used a perfect inbounds play to throw a pass from Jae Crowder to Deandre Ayton for an alley-oop (video here). As the officials were trying to sort out whether more time should be put back on the clock, Cousins was seen giving Booker a firm shove.

Booker may have deserved it. One camera angle of Ayton’s game-winning alley-oop showed that Booker immediately ran over to the Clippers’ bench to celebrate. He then enthusiastically joined his teammates and crossed paths with Cousins on the way. You can see all of that in the video below:

Phoenix now holds a 2-0 series lead, so you can understand why Cousins was frustrated. What has to really sting for the Clippers was Paul George missing two free throws with 8.2 seconds left. If he made either one, the series might be tied heading into Game 3.

Devin Booker joins elite company with 40-point playoff triple double

Devin Booker

Devin Booker picked up the slack and then some in the absence of Chris Paul in Game 1 on Sunday, dominating the Los Angeles Clippers on the way to a victory to open the Western Conference Finals.

Booker posted his first career triple-double, scoring 40 points to go with 13 rebounds and 11 assists. He became only the third player 24 years old or younger to record a 40-point triple double, joining Luka Doncic and Oscar Robertson.

Booker also became the sixth player in NBA history to record multiple 40-point games in his first career postseason. The company there is pretty elite, too.

Booker was simply dominant against the Clippers. Maybe it was down to the presence of “Suns in 4” guy. Whatever it was, the team will be incredibly thankful it.

Devin Booker hooks up ‘Suns in 4’ fan with tickets, signed jersey

Suns in 4 fan

Phoenix Suns fan Nick McKellar became internet famous last week when he pummeled two Denver Nuggets fans and promised them their team was going to be swept. McKellar is now being rewarded for his loyalty in a big way.

Devin Booker took to social media on Monday looking to track down McKellar’s contract information, and he found it. McKellar and Booker’s reps told ESPN’s Zach Lowe that the Suns are going to send McKellar tickets to a Western Conference Finals game as well as a signed jersey.

McKellar, a lifelong Suns fan who lives in Denver, got into a fight with two Nuggets fans during Game 3 of Phoenix’s Western Conference semifinals series win over the Nuggets. One of the two Nuggets fans sucker-punched McKellar, who proceeded to pummel the two men (video available here). McKellar then confidently shouted “Suns in 4!” to the two men as they left their seats.

The Suns are now awaiting the winner of the Clippers-Jazz series, which Los Angeles leads 3-2. Chris Paul’s status for the Western Conference Finals is in question due to COVID-19 protocols. Hopefully McKellar gets to attend a game in which the Suns are at full strength.

Devin Booker trying to get in touch with ‘Suns in 4’ fan

Devin Booker

Devin Booker seems to be a fan of one of the team’s most confident fans.

Booker sent a message on Twitter Monday seeking the contact information for the Suns fan who went viral over the weekend.

The fan in question got into a fight with two Denver Nuggets fans during Game 3 of Phoenix’s Western Conference semifinals series win over the Nuggets. One of the two Nuggets fans sucker-punched the Suns fan, who proceeded to beat the tar out of the two men (video available here). The fan punctuated the beat down by saying confidently “Suns in 4” to the two men.

Now that the video has gone viral and the man’s prediction of a sweep came true, he’s become internet famous. Maybe Booker will invite the fan to attend the Western Conference finals.

Twitter joked about Nikola Jokic’s brothers beating up Devin Booker

Nikola Jokic was ejected in the third quarter of Game 4 between his Denver Nuggets and the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. Right after committing the foul that led to his ejection, Jokic was swarmed by Suns guard Devin Booker.

The way that Booker ran up to Jokic and got in his face led to all sorts of jokes about retribution heading the guard’s way. Several of the jokes specifically referenced Jokic’s two large, older brothers, who go everywhere with the reigning MVP. They looked like they wanted a piece of Booker as the drama was unfolding:

Maybe there is an intimidation factor when it comes to Jokic and his crew. Or maybe Booker doesn’t even care. His Suns won the game 125-118 and got the series sweep. Denver has a lot of work to do.

Devin Booker got right in Nikola Jokic’s face during altercation

Devin Booker did not hesitate to stand up for his teammate after an incident during Game 4 of his Phoenix Suns’ playoff series with the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night.

Nikola Jokic handed Cameron Payne a hard foul in the third quarter and ended up ejected with a flagrant 2 foul. Immediately after the foul, Booker got right in Jokic’s face.

Jokic has a good five inches and 80 pounds on Booker. None of that mattered to the Suns guard in that moment.

Booker received a technical foul but remained in the game. He likely earned respect from his teammates for not hesitating to stand up for them.

Devin Booker turning heads with his incredible car collection

Devin Booker

Devin Booker has been one of the stars of the 2021 NBA playoffs, and he also may have the best car collection.

Before he dropped 21 points in Monday night’s win over the Denver Nuggets, Booker rolled up to Phoenix Suns Arena in a sick classic car with flashy gold rims.

That vintage Chevy is just a piece of Booker’s awesome car collection. He often shares photos and videos of the cars on Instagram, and all of them are a sight to behold.

Booker signed a five-year, $158 million extension with the Suns a few years ago. He’s made an awful lot of money before his 25th birthday, so he can pretty much add any car to his collection that he pleases.

Booker played a huge role in Phoenix’s opening-round win over the Los Angeles Lakers, and he let the opponent hear about it. He’s playing with an incredible amount of confidence at the moment. After seeing what he drives, it makes even more sense.

This is what Devin Booker said to get a technical foul

Devin Booker

Devin Booker had a huge game in the Phoenix Suns’ series-clinching win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, and he capped it off with a technical foul. We now know what he said to earn that technical.

Booker was given a technical foul for taunting the Lakers after an emphatic dunk. Video replays showed that he yelled, “What? What? Thought so,” at the losing team.

We’ve certainly seen officials let much harsher trash talk slide. Booker scored 47 points on 15-of-22 shooting in Phoenix’s 113-100 win. He also grabbed 11 rebounds. You could make the argument that he earned the right to brag.

LeBron James has been a big supporter of Booker, but he snubbed the Suns star and everyone else after the game (video here).

Anthony Davis says Devin Booker committed ‘dirty play’

Anthony Davis Lakers

Anthony Davis was not a fan of Devin Booker’s flagrant foul at the end of Game 3 on Thursday night.

Booker was ejected for his hard foul in the final minute of his Phoenix Suns’ 109-95 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. Booker gave Dennis Schroder a hard push while Schroder was driving to the basket (seen here).

After the game, Davis was interviewed by TNT and asked about the play.

“Can’t happen. Can’t do that. They’ve been chirping, it’s playoff basketball, but you don’t push a guy like that … it’s a dirty play. Dennis could have really got hurt right there,” Davis said.

Davis went on to say that they accept that hard fouls are part of playoff basketball, but an intentional push like that is different and could result in an injury.

He is not wrong. That was a dirty, uncalled for move from Booker, who being a poor sport as his team fell behind 2-1.

Devin Booker, Jae Crowder ejected from end of Game 3

Devin Booker Dennis Schroder

Devin Booker and Jae Crowder were ejected from the end of Game 3 of the first-round playoff series between the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.

Dennis Schroder was driving to the basket with under a minute remaining in the Lakers’ 109-95 win. Booker gave Schroder an intentional shove that sent the Lakers guard to the ground.

The officials reviewed the play on a monitor and gave Booker a flagrant 2 foul, which triggers an automatic ejection.

Suns coach Monty Williams objected to the call and let the officials know. Then before play resumed, Crowder was talking with Schroder. The Suns guard got ejected as well.

Phoenix took Game 1 of the series at home but has since fallen behind 2-1 in the series.
