Gilbert Arenas shares firsthand account of Matt Barnes-Derek Fisher issue

The fight between Matt Barnes and Derek Fisher has been back in the news the past week, and now Gilbert Arenas has weighed in on it.

Barnes got into a fight with Fisher in October at the home Barnes used to share with estranged wife Gloria Govan, who is now dating Fisher. Barnes claimed he did not like the way the Knicks head coach was interacting with Barnes’ children. Barnes was suspended two games by the NBA for his role in the fight. He was also fined for comments he made towards the New York Knicks head coach over the weekend.

With the story being rehashed the past few days, Arenas, who was nearly brothers-in-law with Barnes (Gilbert dated Gloria’s sister, Laura), shared his account of what happened on Instagram.

So there you have Arenas saying Barnes was “whopping” Fisher and that Fisher was running around the house screaming. Arenas also confirms that Fisher’s bodyguard was the one who called police.

Barnes’ attack of Fisher cost him two games with the Grizzlies this season and $35,000 in fines. You better believe that is a big reason why he went off on this New Year’s rant on Instagram a few weeks ago.
