Major twist emerges in Josh Sweat trade rumors involving the Packers

June 2, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Arizona Cardinals defensive end Josh Sweat’s offseason holdout has led to his name surfacing in several trade rumors, with most linking him to the Green Bay Packers.

Green Bay surely could use someone like Sweat on its defense, especially with the possibility of superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons missing games to start the 2026 NFL season as he continues recovering from a torn ACL injury.

However, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic put rumors of a potential Packers trade for Sweat to rest — for now.

“Sorry to rain on the parade, but I’m told Brian Gutekunst hasn’t discussed a Josh Sweat trade with anyone. Not a thing at this point,” Schneidman shared on X.

One reason the Packers are being linked to Sweat is his connection to new Green Bay defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon. Before getting hired by the Packers, Gannon was the head coach of the Cardinals during the 2024 season, Sweat’s first year with Arizona. Gannon also coached Sweat as the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive coordinator.

Despite what Schneidman said, it’s hard to deny that Green Bay’s defense up front would be much more dangerous with someone like Sweat on it.

The 29-year-old Sweat has 55.0 sacks and 11 forced fumbles with 114 quarterback hits in 121 games played, so far in his NFL career.

Jusuf Nurkic slammed for calling his former head coach an ‘alcohol addict’

June 2, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Utah Jazz center Jusuf Nurkic had a telling revelation about his former head coach during his time with the Phoenix Suns.

During a recent appearance on the X&Os Chat with Edin Avdic, the veteran NBA big man  issued a blunt critique of how things went with the Suns under head coach Mike Budenholzer, whom he also called an “alcohol addict.”

“The situation we were in, the environment, we were in. And then you find out, well, I don’t know if I should say this. But the guy was an alcohol addict,” Nurkic said of Budenholzer. “He was really having a problem with it.”

"Mike Budenholzer? He was explaining to Kevin Durant how to score a basket. It was absurd.

Then, at the end, you find out he was struggling with alcohol addiction…" 🍻

Maybe Nurkic should have just avoided making those comments about Budenholzer, as people have called him out for that particular remark about the two-time NBA Coach of the Year Award winner.

I disliked Budenholzer but Nurk acting like he didn’t rob the Suns of millions playing worse than a garbage can is pretty funny

— Arizona Sports Hype (@HypeArizona) June 1, 2026

This is incredibly disrespectful. Talking about your former coach like this is crazy

— spanish pistons fan (@spanishdetf4n) June 1, 2026

if I had to watch that guy fail to rebound and convert easy baskets I'd be an alcoholic too

— Inside Agitator (@AbsolutelyMalc1) June 2, 2026

Sounds like Nurk would have a problem with any coach

— RB (@RJB242) June 2, 2026

Some things you keep to yourself, you could cost him a job in the future

— Beauski (@_beauski) June 1, 2026

Others also pointed out that Nurkic should have been more sensitive in talking about Budenholzer, considering that the latter lost his brother in a car crash while still coaching the Milwaukee Bucks in 2023.

Budenholzer was hired by the Suns in 2024, but he didn’t last very long with the team. After Phoenix missed the 2025 NBA Playoffs with just a 36-46 record despite a star-studded lineup that featured Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, the Suns fired Budenholzer.

Jacob deGrom reveals what makes his 100th win even more memorable

June 2, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

After getting stuck with career win No. 99 for over two weeks, Texas Rangers pitcher Jacob deGrom finally snatched his 100th pitching victory in the big leagues.

It came on Monday, as the two-time Cy Young Award winner helped the Rangers record a 2-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Mo.

It’s a feat that deserves to be remembered on its own, but the 37-year-old deGrom has another great reason to celebrate it.

“Today [is] Nolan’s third birthday,” deGrom said of his youngest son after his milestone win, via Jeff Jones of MLB.com. “I’ll always remember that, getting my 100th win on his third birthday. It’s really cool.”

That is also a great story for deGrom to tell Nolan one day. Against the Cardinals, the five-time All-Star tossed five scoreless innings and allowed just four hits with a walk, while racking up eight strikeouts in 91 pitches.

deGrom had to sweat it out in the dugout after exiting the mound, as the Rangers did not provide him with ample run support. Instead, Texas relied on its bullpen to help preserve the win.

deGrom, who signed a 5-year $185 million contract with the Rangers in 2022, is now 4-4 with a 3.48 ERA across 12 starts in 2026.

Andre Drummond gets candid about Jared McCain joining the Thunder

June 2, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

It is safe to say that if Andre Drummond were the Philadelphia 76ers general manager, he would not have let Jared McCain get traded away.

For Drummond, keeping McCain would have been the better decision for the 76ers, who sent the former Duke Blue Devils star to the already-loaded Oklahoma City Thunder before the NBA’s trade deadline in February.

“I am very happy for Jared McCain,” Drummond said during an appearance on N3ON’s YouTube channel.

“I wish we kept him, obviously, but I think he went to a good situation, a team that is going to help him develop and help him grow. I love the kid to death. Very, very good kid.”

The 76ers reloaded their cupboard with draft assets by trading McCain, as they got four draft picks. They also managed to stay under the luxury tax by letting go of McCain, while taking zero active players in return.

All that being said, 76ers fans must have regretted that trade, especially after watching McCain blossom into a dependable postseason performer for the Thunder during the 2026 NBA Playoffs.

McCain probably would have given Drummond and the 76ers a big lift in the playoffs, particularly in the second round, where they got swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

New Daniel Jones update emerges

June 2, 2026 by Rex Villas
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Daniel Jones is getting closer to a full recovery from a devastating injury.

The Indianapolis Colts quarterback was among the best stories of the 2025 NFL campaign until he suffered a season-ending torn right Achilles tendon injury in December.

But Jones is showing signs of great improvement in the offseason, with JJ Stankevitz of Colts.com reporting that the former Duke Blue Devils signal-caller participated in Indianapolis’ seven-on-seven drills in practice on Monday.

That is certainly a big sign of progress for Jones after he participated only in the individual portions of the Colts’ OTAs last week.

Indianapolis head coach Shane Steichen also felt good about the latest development on Jones.

“It’s just making those strides each and every week and to get him out there at seven-on-seven was huge,” Steichen said.

But the Colts will continue to exercise caution on how they utilize Jones in the OTAs, with Steichen noting that the plan is to keep the quarterback from joining 11-on-11 work until at least the start of the team’s training camp.

Jones led the Colts to a strong start in 2025, leading Indianapolis to an 8-5 record, while passing for 3,101 yards and 19 touchdowns against 8 interceptions before the Achilles injury ended his season.

Despite his injury, he was able to secure a 2-year, $88 million contract extension with the Colts in March.

Paige Bueckers had great quote after ‘ugly’ win over Storm

June 1, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Paige Bueckers proved she was a woman of the people on Monday in the Dallas Wings’ win over the Seattle Storm.

The Wings beat the Storm in a 79-56 brick fight in the team’s fifth home game of the season. Despite the victory, Bueckers was apologetic over the brand of basketball the two teams displayed at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.

“Sometimes you’ve got to win ugly, like tonight,” Bueckers said during her postgame interview.

“I feel bad for the people who were watching. They should get all their money back. I don’t even know what the field goal percentages were on both sides. But sometimes you’ve got to win ugly, so we’ll take it and keep moving on.”

“i feel bad for the people who were watching, they should get all their money back” im laughing 😭😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/elk2srlw8i

— L (t cloud #1 fan) (@direneedofhelp) June 2, 2026

Calling Monday’s offense output “ugly” was an understatement. Neither team shot better than 36 percent from the floor in what felt like both squads trying to damage the rims.

Bueckers, who stuffed the stat sheet with nine rebounds and seven assists, only went 4/12 from the floor for 10 points herself. Fortunately for Wings fans, the Storm’s starting lineup was even worse. Seattle’s first five combined to shoot 11/40 from the field, led by Flau’jae Johnson’s 16 points and 10 rebounds on 4/12 shooting.

Given that Dallas still won Monday’s stinker, there probably won’t be many fans asking for refunds. But don’t expect them to be telling their friends and family about the game.

Angels outfielder Jose Siri robbing a Rays player of a grand slam

Angels outfielder pulls off insanely improbable grand slam feat

June 1, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

The baseball gods have been smiling at Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jose Siri over the past couple of game days.

Siri was a grand slam magnet in back-to-back games for the Angels against two different opponents. The first instance was on the defensive end against his former team, the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Dominican was playing left field with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 3rd inning at Tropicana Field in Tampa, Fla. Rays batter Taylor Walls hooked a first-pitch fastball toward the pole in left field.

Siri stole a grand slam away from Walls, holding the Angels’ deficit to 3-1.

Jose Siri robs a GRAND SLAM against his former club 🤯 pic.twitter.com/NLpzKFiFcG

— MLB (@MLB) May 31, 2026

More importantly, Siri saved a platter of chicken tenders from being flung into the air by a baseball put in play.

Jose Siri saved the buffet, and also a grand slam. Some heroes don’t wear capes. pic.twitter.com/LpHn93MYWq

— Barstool Sports (@barstoolsports) May 31, 2026

A day later, Siri was the one at the plate with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 3rd inning against the Colorado Rockies. He took Kyle Freeland’s 1-0 pitch deep to left field for a grand slam that went well over the fence at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.

Jose Siri go-ahead grand slam 😤 pic.twitter.com/WDkYnadHzi

— MLB (@MLB) June 2, 2026

Thankfully, no chicken tenders were harmed by Siri’s big fly, which gave the Angels a 5-2 lead.

One has to wonder how many times a player has robbed someone of a grand slam in one game, then hit one of his own the following day. If it’s ever happened before, the number of instances definitely isn’t very high.

Despite Siri’s heroics, the Angels lost both contests. The Rays beat them 5-2, while the Rockies came roaring back to win a 9-8 barnburner. Those final scores would have looked a lot worse for Anaheim had Siri not worked his grand slam magic.

Fans suspect AJ Brown’s childhood photos in a Patriots jersey were made with AI

June 1, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

AJ Brown’s throwback photos may not actually have the sentimental value New England Patriots fans were hoping for.

The Patriots made the blockbuster move on Monday to acquire Brown in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. The veteran wide receiver appeared to be ecstatic about the move, as evidenced by the pair of childhood photos he posted on Instagram repping New England’s football team as a little kid.

Both snapshots showed a young Brown wearing a Tom Brady jersey.

AJ Brown’s latest IG post. Seems pretty excited to be in New England. pic.twitter.com/LGvx4gu23C

— Victor Williams (@ThePhillyPod) June 1, 2026

Some fans questioned the authenticity of the photos for varying reasons.

One Eagles fan page noted that Brown’s uniform in the second picture had a Nike logo, even though the Oregon-based company did not produce NFL jerseys until 2015. Brown was well into his teenage years at the time.

AJ Brown posted a ‘childhood’ photo in a Patriots jersey for his big homecoming moment.

One problem: Nike didn’t make NFL jerseys until 2012—when AJ was already 15.

So either he was tiny at 15… or that photo’s edited. 👀 pic.twitter.com/UxFGMtmROW

— Eagle Times (@_EagleTimes) June 1, 2026

While it’s possible Brown could have been wearing a bootleg Nike jersey, even more damning evidence was noticeable on the Instagram platform itself. The social media app’s AI detection software flagged that the post “may have been created by AI.”

TRENDING: New #Patriots WR AJ Brown is under criticism from #Eagles fans for posting AI photos of himself in a Patriots jersey — despite claiming he grew up a New England fan.

Nike started making jerseys in 2012 and Brown does not look 15 in these photos: pic.twitter.com/TARz9TG8u1

— MLFootball (@MLFootball) June 2, 2026

It’s possible that Brown wasn’t hiding the fact that it was made with the help of artificial intelligence. It’s not uncommon for players to post edited photos of themselves wearing their new team’s colors before ever taking the field in them.

It’s quite a strange choice to do the same thing with a set of photos that made fans believe Brown had always been destined to be a Patriot. But at the end of the day, all New England fans care about is how Brown looks and performs in the Patriots uniform in the current year, 2026.

There’s no way for Brown to use AI to fudge his numbers on the field this coming season.

Chet Holmgren looks on

Thunder have reportedly made a decision on Chet Holmgren

June 1, 2026 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Chet Holmgren will not be getting voted off the island just yet.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will not be trading away their NBA All-Star big man Holmgren this offseason, Tim MacMahon of ESPN reported Monday. MacMahon notes that the Thunder continue to believe in Holmgren’s talent, character, and work ethic.

Holmgren, still just 24 years old, was OKC’s No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. After missing all of his rookie season due to Lisfranc injury, Holmgren has since bounced back to become a crucial long-term building block for the Thunder.

The seven-footer Holmgren had a starring role on the OKC team that won the 2025 NBA championship. He then followed that up this season by averaging 17.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game en route to All-Star, All-NBA, and First Team All-Defensive honors.

But the narrative on Holmgren has quickly flipped after his shoddy 2026 postseason. Holmgren’s numbers fell to 14.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game, and he looked especially lost in the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. Holmgren was benched down the stretch of the decisive Game 7 last weekend and seemed particularly petrified by his matchup against rival Victor Wembanyama of the Spurs.

That said, the Thunder already committed to Holmgren with a five-year, $239.3 million rookie max extension that officially begins next season. While there was some chatter in recent days about OKC potentially flipping salaries for another young All-Star big instead, they are clearly still hitching their wagon to Holmgren until further notice.

Dayton Tockey doubled over in pain

Oklahoma player brutally fouls a ball off his own nuts

June 1, 2026 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

An Oklahoma player managed to turn one foul ball into three this week.

Oklahoma faced off against No. 2 seed Georgia Tech on Monday in the NCAA Atlanta Regional Championship Game. In the sixth inning at Mac Nease Baseball Park in Atlanta, Ga., Sooners first baseman Dayton Tockey was batting with a runner on and two outs.

Facing an 0-2 count, Tockey hacked away at an offering at the knees. Tockey immediately came to regret that decision though as he ended up fouling the ball straight into the ground … and right into his own nuts.

Here is the video of the very painful moment.

Foul ball directly to the nuts is as brutal as it gets pic.twitter.com/3u9mCrhno3

— Jomboy Media (@JomboyMedia) June 2, 2026

Tockey, after remaining doubled over in pain for a minute, eventually finished the at-bat and hit into an inning-ending groundout some five pitches later. But it appears that the unfortunate nut shot somehow helped Tockey gain karma points with the baseball gods … as he ended up winning the game for Oklahoma with a walkoff home run in the bottom of the 10th inning.

— Oklahoma Baseball (@OU_Baseball) June 1, 2026

The walkoff dinger by Tockey secured the improbable upset of the heavily-favored Yellow Jackets and punched the Sooners’ ticket to the NCAA Super Regionals next weekend. While it took the unluckiest foul tip on this side of Jazz Chisholm before Tockey could even get there, the lefty-hitting senior will definitely be going to bed happy tonight (though perhaps with an ice pack between his legs as well).

Kentucky scores huge name in transfer portal

June 1, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

The Kentucky Wildcats made a big splash in the transfer portal on Monday amid news that Milan Momcilovic is headed to Lexington.

Several reporters confirmed on Monday that Momcilovic was committing to Kentucky after three seasons at Iowa State. The 21-year-old confirmed the news himself with a post on X, showing a photo of him edited into Wildcats uniform.

“BBN!” Momcilovic captioned his post with a blue heart emoji.

BBN!💙 pic.twitter.com/2MB1iYREk8

— Milan Momcilovic (@MilanMomcilovi5) June 2, 2026

Momcilovic was one of the most sought-after stars in the portal this year after an outstanding final season at Iowa State. After a pair of above-average shooting seasons in his first two years with the Cyclones, Momcilovic took the title of college basketball’s best shooter as a junior.

The Wisconsin native averaged 16.9 points on over 50 percent shooting, which is insanely impressive considering he takes 7.5 three-pointers per game. Momcilovic led the country in three-pointer percentage with an eye-popping 48.7 percent clip from distance.

The 6’8″ power forward isn’t much of an all-around player, posting averages of just 3.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.2 blocks per contest. But his gravity pull as a dead-eye shooter with size makes the newest Kentucky Wildcat one of the most lethal offensive weapons in the college ranks.

Momcilovic entered his name in the 2026 NBA draft, but withdrew last week after not receiving as much interest as he had hoped. He could seriously boost his draft stock next year if he has the kind of year Kentucky head coach Mark Pope is looking for.

Myles Garrett sends heartfelt message to Cleveland after trade to Rams

June 1, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Myles Garrett has penned his goodbye letter dedicated to the City of Cleveland and Browns fans everywhere.

After years of speculation and turbulence, the Browns finally traded Garrett on Monday to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for incoming third-year linebacker Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick.

Garrett, whom the Browns drafted No. 1 overall in 2017, spent the first nine seasons of his career in Northeast Ohio. The near-decade together clearly left a mark on Garrett, who posted a heartfelt message to everyone who was a part of his journey in Cleveland.

“To Cleveland, Northeast Ohio, and every Browns fan,” Garrett wrote.

“Nine years.

“It’s hard to put into words what that really means when so much of your life has been shaped in one place, around one team, and with one community behind you.

“… Cleveland made me tougher. You challenged me. You taught me about perseverance, about showing up even when things aren’t easy, and what loyalty really looks like. Through the highs, lows, setbacks, injuries, expectations, inclement weather, and difficult seasons, you all kept showing up.

“I never took that for granted.”

🫶🏾 pic.twitter.com/ZkrYpggD4F

— Myles Garrett (@Flash_Garrett) June 2, 2026

“… What I can say with complete honesty is this: I gave this city everything I had. I suited up and wore those colors with pride, and I don’t regret a second of being part of this storied franchise. Every Sunday. Every offseason. Every play. Every down. Every moment. You gave me more in return than I can ever repay.

“The best days for this franchise are ahead. Thank you for letting me grow here. Thank you for believing in
me.

“Loving you is easy, leaving you is the hard part.

“Thank you for nine unforgettable years.”

Garrett also made sure to thank the Haslam family, Browns GM Andrew Berry, and all the teammates, coaches, training staff, and stadium workers he encountered during his time with the team.

Garrett has had some practice crafting such a message. He wrote a similar note last year when he submitted a formal request to be traded from the Browns. Garrett tried to force the Browns’ hand to deal him for the 2025 season and reportedly even threatened to sit out games, but ultimately played in all 17 games.

Rather than sulk in his last season with the Browns, Garrett took out his frustrations on the field. He broke the single-season sack record with 23.0 en route to his second Defensive Player of the Year award.

Notable update emerges on Pat McAfee’s future at ESPN

June 1, 2026 by Darryn Albert

Pat McAfee and ESPN will keep on keeping on together.

The retired former NFL All-Pro punter McAfee is in early talks for a new long-term contract extension with ESPN, Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports reported on Monday. Glasspiegel notes that McAfee’s current five-year contract with ESPN runs through 2028 and is worth a reported $85 million.

Additionally, McAfee announced earlier in the day Monday that he has a new partnership with DraftKings. Notably, DraftKings serves as the official sportsbook partner of ESPN.

McAfee, still only 39 years old, retired from the NFL in 2016 and started “The Pat McAfee Show” in 2019. The daily talk show quickly became one of the most popular sports programs in the nation, and McAfee ended up moving the show to ESPN in 2023.

As part of their partnership, ESPN simulcasts “The Pat McAfee Show” on their flagship TV channel for two hours every weekday while ESPN+ and ESPN’s YouTube channel air the entire three-hour show. McAfee is also taking on other duties for ESPN these days, including providing some classic moments as a panelist on “College GameDay.”

There was a report last year claiming that ESPN producers had gotten fed up with McAfee because of some alleged “diva-like” behavior. But now that McAfee is past the halfway point of his first contract with the network, it appears that there will be no issues whatsoever with getting the former punter to a second contract.

Chandler Simpson suffers a bizarre injury on a stolen base

June 1, 2026 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Chandler Simpson was a victim of his own blinding speed during Monday’s game.

The Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Simpson suffered an unusual injury in the middle of his team’s series opener against the Detroit Tigers. In the fourth inning at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., Simpson earned a one-out base hit and promptly took off for second during the next at-bat.

Simpson successfully swiped the bag … but paid the price for it. He immediately grabbed at his mouth area and was soon seen bleeding heavily from his lip.

Instant replay later showed exactly what had happened. Simpson’s helmet came flying off his head as he went into his headfirst slide, and the helmet bounced off the second-base bag and smacked Simpson in the mouth. Check out the video.

Simpson was forced to exit the game because of his lip injury. He was replaced as a runner by his Rays teammate Ryan Vilade.

The 25-year-old Simpson is known as one of the fastest players in the majors, stealing 44 bases for Tampa Bay last season and entering play on Monday with 14 steals through 55 games. But during the series opener against the Tigers, Simpson became the latest AL East player to suffer an extremely unusual injury this week.

Report: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander wants the Thunder to bring back 1 player

June 1, 2026 by Darryn Albert
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander may be pulling rank to try to get one particular player back on the team next season.

The Oklahoma City Thunder star Gilgeous-Alexander will remind management about how much he values having Luguentz Dort as a teammate in OKC, ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reported on Monday. MacMahon notes that Gilgeous-Alexander and Dort are tied for the longest-tenured Thunder players and that both play together on Team Canada during their summers as well.

Like Gilgeous-Alexander, Dort has been in Oklahoma City ever since 2019. He has served as a major cog for the Thunder ever since then, particularly with his physical defense that earned him All-Defensive First Team honors in 2025 and then helped OKC win the NBA title later that year as well.

But Dort’s stock has taken a hit after a 2026 postseason in which his offensive game was extremely lacking (just 5.5 points per game on woeful 37/31/50 shooting splits). That led to Dort consistently losing minutes to his fellow role player Alex Caruso as the Thunder ultimately fell in the Western Conference Finals to the San Antonio Spurs.

Now Dort is facing a $17.7 million club option for the 2026-27 season. With Thunder owning a $28.5 million club option on center Isaiah Hartenstein as well, they will likely have to make some very tough decisions in order to avoid the second apron of the luxury tax.

Between Dort’s inconsistent offense and his reputation for pulling dirty moves on the court, some OKC fans are seemingly ready to move on from him. But the endorsement of the reigning back-to-back NBA MVP Gilgeous-Alexander may take precedence above all for the Thunder this offseason.

Aaron Donald’s latest post turns head amid Myles Garrett trade to Rams

June 1, 2026 by Renzo Pocholo Salao
FacebookTweetLinkedInRedditThreadsWhatsAppEmail

The Los Angeles Rams’ trade for Myles Garrett has some fans daydreaming about lining him up next to Aaron Donald.

The Rams rocked the NFL landscape on Monday with a blockbuster move to acquire Garrett from the Cleveland Browns. Los Angeles gave up linebacker Jared Verse and a treasure trove of draft assets to land Garrett.

The trade led fans to check in on what Donald has been up to, given that the two could have formed arguably the most fearsome defensive duo in recent memory had the Rams icon not retired in 2024. The last post Donald uploaded on Thursday had some thinking he could potentially be ready to make a return to the field.

The post showed Donald getting a workout in with the caption “#ready,” while the song “ain’t done” by rapper Blxst played in the background.

it’s worth pointing out that in his latest IG workout post 4 days ago, Aaron Donald in his caption has “#ready” and the song is “ain’t done” by Bixst.

While Donald has not played in a game since the 2023 season, he has certainly stayed in impeccable enough shape to warrant speculation about a possible return. Donald has had to shut down rumors about a potential comeback seemingly every year.

Rams fans can only hope that the the prospect of lining up alongside Garrett could change the equation for Donald.

Old Victor Wembanyama-Spike Lee video resurfaces ahead of NBA Finals

Victor Wembanyama and Spike Lee both apparently saw the vision from the start.

An old video of the San Antonio Spurs star Wembanyama and the famous film director (and New York Knicks superfan) Lee made the rounds over social media on Monday. The video was taken during 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif. earlier this year in February.

In the video, Wembanyama exchanged pleasantries with Lee by the courtside seats. Lee said, “Hey, I want to see you guys in the Finals, baby,” to which Wembanyama replied, “I want to see you guys!”

Here is the clip.

That ended up being quite the prescient moment as now, less than four months later, both the Spurs and the Knicks are in this year’s NBA Finals. San Antonio is making its first Finals trip since 2014, and New York is making its first trip since way back in 1999 (which was also coincidentally a Finals matchup against the Spurs).

Game 1 of the Finals tips off on Wednesday night at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. Meanwhile, it is a virtual guarantee that Wembanyama will be seeing a lot of Lee whether at home or away (especially after Lee notably trash-talked the Spurs during this season’s NBA Cup final).

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has made a decision on his next shoe company.

Curry and Under Armour parted ways in November after 12 years together. Curry is now signing a monster 10-year deal with a Chinese company called Li-Ning. Curry announced the new partnership in a video released on social media on Monday.

Curry’s partnership with the Chinese brand will allow the Warriors star to “sign athletes under his brand” and includes a golf line, according to details obtained from ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Part of Curry’s decision to pick Li-Ning was that he was impressed by the comfort of the shoes worn by Warriors teammate Jimmy Butler, as well as Dwyane Wade and CJ McCollum.

The company was founded by Li Ning, a famous Chinese gymnast who won six gold medals at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Curry called it the “partnership of a lifetime.”

Stephen Curry left Nike in 2013 to sign with Under Armour, and now he will begin a new venture that should have a significant impact on a global scale.

The New York Giants and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. are going full circle.

On Monday, the Giants worked out four veteran wide receivers, and they signed all of Braxton Berrios, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Beckham to add depth to the injury-depleted WR room.

After the signing of Beckham was announced, former Giants quarterback Eli Manning had a few words of excitement regarding the acquisition.

Manning is a two-time Super Bowl/Super Bowl MVP winner with the Giants, and he spent his entire NFL career with the franchise since going first overall in 2004.

Beckham and Manning were also together with the Giants from 2014 (when Beckham was selected at No. 12 overall) until 2019, when the Cleveland Browns acquired the talented WR in a trade.

Beckham also reunites with John Harbaugh, the Giants’ new head coach, who also coached Beckham in 2023 when he was a member of the Baltimore Ravens.

The young Giants offense features QB Jaxson Dart, RB Cam Skattebo and WR Malik Nabers, although his Week 1 status is murky after he underwent a second knee surgery recently.

Now, all three of Berrios, Smith-Schuster and Beckham have signed with the franchise. Beckham last played in 2024 with the Miami Dolphins, but he is back in New York in hopes of becoming a reliable target for Dart.
