Forgive me for being so slow sometimes in computing…but I was just browsing through the NCAA tournament bracket, and I noticed a lack of teams from the MOST PROMINENT BASKETBALL CONFERENCE in America. What happened to all the teams from the ACC?
Where’s Duke? Where’s the regular season co-champ Virginia? What about the “hottest team in America to finish the year,” Maryland? Georgia Tech’s gone. So is Virginia Tech. All that remains for you saps is North Carolina.
That’s it. Just 1 for 6 in the Sweet 16. Same thing with the Big Ten. Everybody was ranting and raving after their successful first round — that is, until they all got their clocks cleaned in the second round. Just 1 for 6 in the Sweet 16 as well.
That is why it’s time to recognize the most competitive conference in America this year. Give some love to the SEC, but realize that the Pac-10 was the toughest and most competitive conference all year long. How else do you explain, 3, nearly 4 teams in the Sweet 16? What do you have to say for yourself — not thinking USC had a chance to reach the Sweet 16? That’s right, recognize, the Pac-10 was the toughest conference this year, no question about it.
