Perhaps it sounded better in his head, but Dolphins owner Stephen Ross offered up a pretty hilarious quote about his franchise.
Miami has had just one season with nine wins or more in the last ten years, and only one playoff appearance since 2001. No problem, though, says Ross: the Dolphins are exemplary everywhere else.
“From every aspect except on the playing field, we’re probably the first-class organization in the National Football League,” Ross told reporters.
This is great, of course. Maybe he’s right and they are. Perhaps they have the best marketing department in professional sports, the best team doctors, or the finest legal department. Unfortunately, none of that wins you games, and until that changes, nobody is going to think much of the Dolphins.
