Just because you haven't seen a player does not negate his abilities or credentials. In addition, if you watched Maryland games and didn't notice Heyward-Bey you probably weren't paying much attention considering he was the top receiver and biggest playmaker for the past 2 or 3 years. I have watched DHB for the past 2 seasons in person, and can tell you that he will definitely not be a bust based on anything he does. In terms of natural skills and tools, he is second to none in this draft. Also, he played on a team that ran the ball a majority of the time (as most NFL teams do as well) and when he was thrown to, he was either double-covered or overthrown to, probably both. However, when he was thrown to and the ball was within reach, he almost always made the catch, but more importantly he would always go for YAC and because he's so fast and strong, would stretch routine plays into big gains.

The only reason I see for his failure is the team he plays for; this is not an attack on the Raiders organization or their fans, but there is a reason all of us cringed when we heard Commissioner Goodell say his name in the same sentence as the Raiders. If they are serious about succeeding and developing their talent then they have drafted a very good player who will be part of that future success. If they continue on their current path, then the whole team will be a bust, not just DHB. I wish you both a successful season; all of us here in Maryland will be watching and hoping for some big plays from JaMarcus to Darrius.

It's time for Al Davis to get his hands out of the cookie jar and retire. He still runs the organization as if it was the 80's, oh wait you already said that :).

I agree that Heyward-Bey will most likely not succeed playing in Oakland, but I promise you.. If he makes a squad with a talented O-line and QB he will a better NFL WR than Crabtree.

Maybe Al wants to start a track team! I think he has all the 40 yd times of all the players and whatever position he wants to fill, he see who has the fastest time and picks him. I'm surprised he didn't take the Jamacian sprinter who won gold at the Olympics as his first pick. He's fast, really fast!

What's even more ridiculous is some mock drafts had the Raiduhs taking this guy solely based on his 40 time.
Pretty much making fun of them....and they were right! Then you have Michael Mitchell...who of course
had a great 40 time...but they could have taken him in the 5th round! What the hell?!!?

ah well, always great entertainment

Well, be fair

lets watch him drop a few passes with his stone hands whilest running his route poorly.

I love the Raiders. They provide so much entertainment on Draft day.
