Sports reporter Kyle Kraska shot outside his home, taken to hospital
San Diego sports reporter Kyle Kraska was shot outside his home multiple times on Tuesday and was taken to a hospital, where he is said to be alert and talking.
Many of Kraska’s co-workers at KFMB-TV CBS 8 in San Diego reported the news about the anchor/sports director, who reportedly suffered multiple wounds.
CBS 8 reporter Marcella Lee posted the following update about her co-worker:
Kyle Kraska is in surgery- doctors were waiting for him as he arrived after being shot at his home. He has more than one gunshot wound. The encouraging news is that he was alert and talking during transport to the hospital. We will have the latest at 5pm on CBS8. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers
Rather than reporting about a shooting involving other people, members of CBS 8’s staff found themselves in the unusual position of reporting about an incident involving one of their own.
FOX 5 in San Diego provided some details about the incident:
A neighbor told police that someone shot the rear window out of Kraska’s silver Mercedes-Benz, firing as many as 10 shots, then fled in an older-model white minivan.
Another neighbor told Fox 5 that she heard an argument between Kraska and a man who had been working on his house. Then, she heard several gunshots.
