Angels’ Jake Jewell taken off on stretcher after injuring leg
Los Angeles Angels relief pitcher Jake Jewell was taken off the field in a stretcher after injuring his leg while covering home on a play at the plate on Wednesday.
Jewell was pitching in the bottom of the eighth with his Angels down 8-6 and two runners on for Boston at Fenway Park. Jewell then threw a wild pitch allowing JD Martinez to score from third.
As Jewell went to cover home plate, he seemed to try and slide and injured his leg.
