Blue Jays reportedly interested in Josh Reddick
The Toronto Blue Jays are making contingency plans with their outfield situation currently in limbo.
According to a report by Jon Morosi of FOX Sports on Friday, the Blue Jays are showing interest in Los Angeles Dodgers free agent outfielder Josh Reddick but won’t be able to fully determine their direction until Jose Bautista officially decides on his $17.2 million qualifying offer.

Reddick, 29, batted .281/.345/.405 with 10 home runs and 37 RBIs in 115 appearances between the Dodgers and the Oakland Athletics in 2016. While an exit from Los Angeles might be intriguing to Reddick for non-baseball reasons, a lot still has to happen for Toronto to give him that opportunity.
Bautista seems likely to decline the qualifying offer, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t be returning to the Blue Jays. Toronto also has the free agency of Michael Saunders, a corner outfielder just like Reddick, to decide on, so several different endgames are in play here.
