Look: Yordan Alvarez damaged Astros’ scoreboard with batting practice missile
In case you haven’t heard, Yordan Alvarez has got some pop.
Before Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels, the Houston Astros rookie slugger uncorked a missile during batting practice that clanged off the Minute Maid Park scoreboard just above the second deck in deep right field. Brian McTaggart of MLB.com shared an image of the damage, which the team poked fun at with a message that read “Nice shot Yordan!” and an arrow pointing to the affected area.

That kind of insane power is nothing new for the 22-year-old phenom, who is clubbing .327 with 19 home runs and 57 RBIs in just 57 games this season.
We saw a similar feat of strength by another Astros player in BP earlier this summer, but Alvarez’s torpedo shot here may have just taken the cake.
