Report: Matt Harvey did not show up to ballpark, said he had migraine
Matt Harvey was reportedly suspended by the New York Mets after he failed to show up to the ballpark on Saturday.
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that Harvey did not inform the team ahead of time that he would not be present and later said he was suffering from a migraine.

Source close to Harvey says he had migraine and cited possible communication issue with #Mets. Team evidently saw it differently.

The Mets obviously weren’t buying the excuse, as they announced on Sunday that Harvey has been suspended for three games.
It’s no surprise that the team wasn’t interesting in hearing Harvey out, as this is not the first time he has been late to the park or failed to show up altogether. If you remember, he missed a mandatory meeting during the playoffs last year and did not provide a very good explanation.
The Mets would only say Sunday that Harvey violated team rules, but he is obviously a repeat offender. Players typically don’t get suspended for messing up once, or even twice.
Harvey was scheduled to start against the Miami Marlins on Sunday before he was sent home. The righthander is 2-2 with a 5.14 ERA in six starts this year.
