Report: Yankees ‘close’ to dealing Carlos Beltran to Rangers
The Texas Rangers are reportedly on the verge of acquiring Carlos Beltran, but the cost is not cheap.
According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the Yankees are close to sending Beltran to the Rangers in exchange for prospect Dillon Tate.

Tate was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft. He’s struggled at A ball, but he was one of the top prospects in baseball before the season started.
Beltran, however, is a prize. A .304 hitter with 22 home runs in 2016, he’s still producing at a high level. Though he’s lost a step defensively, he’ll add even more punch to Texas’s lineup.
Cleveland was also in on Beltran, but apparently were unable to match Texas’s offer.
